We had 2 days to kill in this part of Bavaria. Wurtzberg is quite nice -- but we wanted to find a quiet place where you can park for free and see a small town. The Talblick is a family run inn. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The owners are super-friendly, and they are anxious to talk with you. The food is superb -- they make everything themselves - even the bratwurst and kraut. There is a small terrasse where you can sit and plan out the day. The breakfasts are more or less what you see in Germany everywhere - -but everything here is made right here. The cook has a great sense of humor, and the gentleman who checks you in is also a good person -- and Mama runs it all perfectly. The town is small and very quiet. Parking and Internet are free. Recommended. It is about a 30 min drive to Wurtzberg which is definitely worth doing -- go to 'the rezidenz'.

“Squeaky clean & quaint hotel just outside Frankfurt”

We had 24 hours to kill before catching our flight out of Frankfurt. Hotels in the city were full and expensive so we ended up in Esselbach, a pretty rural town an hour away from the airport. We had 24 hours to kill before catching our flight out of Frankfurt. Hotels in the city were full and expensive so we ended up in Esselbach, a pretty rural town an hour away from the airport. Talblick hotel's rooms (we were in 24, 25 & 27) are spotlessly clean and well-appointed for a short stay. The restaurant serves excellent German food in massive portions & breakfast was lovely. Perfect place to rest up before our 30 hours of travel ahead!

Well, it's probably the only hotel in Essenbach so you can't ask that much. However, for the price we paid for one night (82 euro), I would expect a bit more. Well, it's probably the only hotel in Essenbach so you can't ask that much. However, for the price we paid for one night (82 euro), I would expect a bit more. The rooms are ok, seemed clean, but a bit outdated. The other areas of the hotel look a bit outdated as well. The restaurant was already closed at 21 o'clock (that didn't help, since we could only find a pizzeria still open in the town). The staff didn't speak much english. Breakfast was..hmm..i'm definitely expecting more from a German breakfast and taking into account the price. Limited choice. So, let;s say so...if it is in your way and really can't go on to find something better, then it's ok. Otherwise, don't go for it.
