We managed, thanks to the extra help of the staff!, to book a private dining room for our wedding just 3 weeks before the date. Chamane, was incredibly helpful and supportive and made everything stress-free, which is no easy task! There was excellent contact regarding menus, dietary requirements etc and on the day itself, they were extremely accommodating making sure we had all we need, adjusting timings and so on. The staff were very attentive, without being over-bearing and the food was excellent. We really had a fabulous day and it was so lovely to be in a private room, with such wonderful, friendly staff supporting us throughout. Thank you!

“Wonderful Christmas Stay!”

Had a wonderful stay over the Christmas period. We had a lovely welcome from the staff team, Yan and Daniel were brilliant! The room was great and the bed was super comfortable. The downstairs bar/restaurant area offered a great place for an evening drink and also served an excellent breakfast!

We had heard the King’s Arms was under new ownership, so we decided to have lunch there. When we arrived staff were very helpful and showed us to a table, we didn’t like it. We had heard the King’s Arms was under new ownership, so we decided to have lunch there. When we arrived staff were very helpful and showed us to a table, we didn’t like it. So they seated us at a table which was a lot better for us, there was no problem with our request. We decided to eat off the A la carte menu , as we were both hungry. As we don’t drink we asked for tap water which came chilled. I had the Terrine of smoked Mackerel, served as stated on menu and was very tasty. My partner had the Dorset Scallops, as they are one of her favourites. They were cooked just as she liked and she enjoyed the accompaniments with the Scallops. For our main, we both decided to try the Hake Thermidor. As we like lobster Thermidor we decided to try the Hake. We had with a side of Market greens. No complaints about the hake it was delicious we both enjoyed the fish. I would certainly have again. The staff were very attentive during our meal. For sweet my partner had the Mango Panna Cotta which she enjoyed and it was set just as she likes. I went with the three cheeses which came with a good selection of savoury biscuits. Another enjoyable course. All I can say is we both enjoyed our meal, the service and ambiance of the restaurant was to our liking and staff polite and helpful. We would definitely go to the King’s Arms again, and with friends.

“Warm and friendly and good breakfast!”

Very friendly staff and good service. Believe it has recently been taken over by another hotel chain and some improvements were under way to make it even better. The breakfast was superb and all served efficiently and with a friendly smile!
