This hotel was probably the best value for money on our trip to China. It's nicely located just next to the Nanjing city wall and Xuanwu lake and only a 5 minute walk from the closest metro station (Xinmofanmalu). The room was well equipped and adequately sized. The staff were fairly nice, not all of them spoke English but there was always someone around that did and we had no problems whatsoever. Like someone else already worte, it was indeed a bit hard to find, but once you know the location it is very easy to get to. Note that Ebookers has a wrong location for the hotel on their map but if put the hotel name in google maps, it'll show you the right place to go. The only negative thing was the free wi-fi, which did not really work inside the rooms so we had to gown to the lobby to get online.

“Great price”

The hotel is clean, well priced. They have wifi. Tge best part is the location. In good weather the famous park, gate and lake is in walking distance. Also there are convenience stores and other shopping stores nearby.

We stayed in Hotel Nanjing Orange Xuanwumen (南京桔子酒店 - 玄武门）for 1 night. If you are taking a train from Shanghai to Nanjing Station and stopping at Nanjing Railway station (南京站), the hotel is only located one metro station away. The location of the hotel is great. It was a 10 to 15 min walk away from Xinmofan Road metro station (新模范马路站) . Take exit 4 of the metro. Upon exiting, turn left and walk all the way straight, pass the huge traffic crossing and walk a bit more until you reach a small road 'Houda Shugen' (后大树根) and turn left into the road. You should be able to see the hotel building rightaway. There is a Lotte supermarket near, which you can access from Exit 1 of the Xinmofan Road metro station. The hotel staff was efficient. And upon check-in, there should be complimentary oranges given to you. If they don't, you can request for it. Each room will be provided two key cards - one for the lift access and another for the room access. The key card for the room access has a chip. Do note that the lift access card cannot open your hotel room so you will need to take your room key access card when you leave the room. This was not communicated to us in the first place and we left our room card in the room slot. However, the counter staff quickly rectified the problem by providing us another room card key upon our request when we realised that we were stuck outside our room. The bathroom was clean. The bed was a little hard but it is expected of hotels in China. There is no mini fridge in the room. The wifi is free and does not require any password when you are in your hotel room. However, if you are at the lobby, you will probably need to get the password from the receptionist. Overall, it is a great hotel at a bargain and I would probably stay there again if I am on Nanjing for vacation.

This is a good hotel. I will look for this chain in the future when traveling in China. It is a simple hotel without any facilities like a gym or restaurant. The rooms are minimalist and stylish. They are clean and spacious. You'll find a little gold fish and a Rubiks cube in every room-odd but unique. The hotel is located in the back alley of a main street. Because of its hidden location, you're unlikely find cabs in front of the hotel. However, as soon as you get out onto the main street, you can easily hail down a cab. The subway station (it's one stop from the rail station) is also across the street by the Shangri-la hotel. Xuanwu lake is within a 10 minute walk. If you're dying for a decent cup of coffee, there is a Starbucks in the Westin hotel across the street. My only complaint about this stay is that the front desk could have been more cordial and customer friendly. Hardly anyone greets or acknowledges you. They could all use a lesson or two in customer service.
