“Bliss on the Thames.”

Bliss- This hotel and the view is stunning. The service and the staff are outstanding as is the food and the wine. There is an onsite cafe/shop where you can sit and people watch, rooms and beds were perfect and I do love a room that provides tea, sugar a kettle and actual real milk in the fridge!!… lisää

Bliss- This hotel and the view is stunning. The service and the staff are outstanding as is the food and the wine. There is an onsite cafe/shop where you can sit and people watch, rooms and beds were perfect and I do love a room that provides tea, sugar a kettle and actual real milk in the fridge!! The area itself is relatively quiet, you would need to use this as a base for walking or need a car. But the staff, the staff, the staff here, they have gotten this so right.

We stayed overnight at The Swan, (which is where we spent our wedding night 50 years ago). We stayed overnight at The Swan, (which is where we spent our wedding night 50 years ago). We booked into The Riverside Suite, which was quite excellent, with a huge bed, large bathroom and plenty of space (although nowhere to put your suitcase?). We ate in the Coppa Club restaurant, where the manager and her husband (from Romania) could not have looked after us better. Their service was quite excellent. The menu was a standard Coppa Club menu, plenty of variety. My only comment is that The Riverside Suite is a long walk from reception, up several flights of stairs, there is no lift or concierge service, so not for the faint hearted. On departure the reception staff kindly printed off a couple of photos from an email, for which I was very grateful. Altogether a most enjoyable experience.

“Great hotel, shame about the Coppa Club”

So many reviews saying the same: amazing location but poor Coppa Club service and poor food. Difficult to separate the CC from the hotel - are they the same or not? When you stay in the hotel though yes they basically are one and the same. The hotel is baffling - massive but in a strange shape. The room was great, fabulous view, comfy bed. Breakfast - well let’s hope you don’t want an early start as it doesn’t begin until 07.30. That may be fine at the weekend but guys it’s chuff all use if you are going to work. Food generally is just pretty lame. Tasteless dry steak, limp broccoli (with tongs to serve it that literally defy physics, it’s like they were made of some weird rubber. Impossible to use) and no offer of any drinks until prompted. Was already parched after ordering one beer at the bar which was 50% froth. Anyway. Am bored just thinking about it all. It could be so wonderful but is basically just overpriced meh thanks to the CC. Presumably the vast hordes of braying ladies that lunch in their gym kit with their immorally massive 4x4s in the car park keep it all going.
