“Excellent little Hotel”

A very pleasant welcome from the young lady on the desk. Who showed us a choice of rooms. Although opposite the Gare it was quiet and scrupulously clean and quiet. A very pleasant welcome from the young lady on the desk. Who showed us a choice of rooms. Although opposite the Gare it was quiet and scrupulously clean and quiet. The staff were happy to carry our two cases up the stairs .we had an excellent meal nicely served and could sit outside to have drinks and coffee and smoke! Highly recommended and will certainly stay again .

The hotel was last redecorated when babypink was in fashion. The room was clean, but rather cold (we did not ask for a heater, though, they might be available). The hotel was last redecorated when babypink was in fashion. The room was clean, but rather cold (we did not ask for a heater, though, they might be available). The wifi worked good, and the café downstairs was sometimes open. We chose not to have breakfast included and just got a coffee. We could not see any opening hours displayed for the cafè/restaurant, but it was sometimes open, sometimes not. Across from the train station - so handy for onward travel, and about 10m walk into town. Fine for a night or two.

“Basic and quirky.”

I booked this place for a party of six,not knowing that it was close to the station - often a sign of dubious quality. I booked this place for a party of six,not knowing that it was close to the station - often a sign of dubious quality. There was no one to meet us when we arrived,simply a phone number to ring and a key pad. We saw no one until breakfast the next day. Le Roi Gourmand apparently wasn't doing food on a Saturday out of season. There was a notice asking guests to remove their boots at the bottom of the stairs and the distinct air of functionality of a working man's hotel. The rooms were clean and most of the showers worked.There was subdued chat going on somewhere most of the night and the sound of a running water. Sometime after eight in the morning, a pleasant middle aged man turned up and presented us with a generous buffet breakfast.We paid 59 euros per couple, I think. This is a cheap,clean but distinctly basic option in a town with few options.
