“Une belle surprise”

Basic but quaint. Charming, clean and friendly with a touch of nostalgis. Just what we needed. The family style food is good enough not to go into the village! The manager is positive and service minded.

We have stayed at hotel de rochers 10 time in the last five years travelling to and from southern Spain. Although The owners dont speak englishthere is no problem and they make you feel so welcome and cant do enough for you. We have stayed at hotel de rochers 10 time in the last five years travelling to and from southern Spain. Although The owners dont speak englishthere is no problem and they make you feel so welcome and cant do enough for you. We have 5 dogs which are allowed to stay in the hotel overnight with us and secured parking for our car and our bikes. The food in the restaurant is fabulous and continental breakfast sees us through to Spain. There Are a huge choice of hotels in the area but we really wouldnt want to go anywhere else. Although it is not the most modern of hotels there is a real charm about it and we always look forward to returning, which we will be doing again this year.

“Good but could do better ..... but we did get VULTURES!”

Many, many years ago we passed through Marvejols as I expect many people do but it stayed in the back of my mind for a visit one day; so this year we went back. Many, many years ago we passed through Marvejols as I expect many people do but it stayed in the back of my mind for a visit one day; so this year we went back. As we came up the hill to the hotel the first thing we saw was the municipal abbatoir but in fairness I think it's closed. The hotel is opposite the railway station but I'm not convinced that they have too many trains though there. The welcome we were given was excellent and helpful; we got our keys and headed up to our room on the second floor IN THE LIFT!!! Yes this hotel has a lift, the only lift we encountered in ten days touring. Int the room, opened the shutters and were confronted by the most amazing view across the valley. Absolutely wonderful. We explored the town a bit and it was shut. Completely shut for some reason but we dis see a rather nice church and later found a bar in the square for a beer. Just as we finished our drink and headed back to the car we could see some large birds riding the updraft just on the edge of town and binoculars confirmed them as vultures. A quick drive and we were under them for a better look and at one time there were twenty two in view. I knew there are vultures in the Massif Central but thought that they were much further east, so this was a real unexpected pleasure even though I am not a bird fanatic. Back at the hotel we enjoyed a decent dinner, the room was clean and spacious and breakfast was OK. So do I have any reservations? As it stands the hotel offers good value for money and really you can't find anything to really complain about. It's just all a bit jaded and needs a good refurbishment; the question remains as to whether there is enough business to justify the expense of doing it. which is a shame.

“Nice stay for one night”

The Hotel is a bit oldfashioned, but a nicely warm wellcome. Spacious room. Diner was excellent, service was very good,breakfast ok. Price/quality at the rate of 60€ is good. We most certainly will come back.
