“A good option for Sliema”

A good option in Sliema! Renovated and clean rooms, quiet hallways, 20 minutes from the airport. Roof top pool and decent service all over the premises. The staff was accommodating and I really have nothing negative to say! It's also super close to great dining options. I would go back!

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of October for a little anniversary trip. We had a sea view room and had requested a high floor - this is definitely a must - gorgeous views of the habour and Valletta in the distance. We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of October for a little anniversary trip. We had a sea view room and had requested a high floor - this is definitely a must - gorgeous views of the habour and Valletta in the distance. Hotel was really good, clean, nice staff, great breakfast and lovely rooftop pool. For the price we paid we were extremely happy. As for location it was spot on - plenty of bars and restaurants right along the promenade and a short walk to the ferry terminal you can hop on a ferry over to Valletta, we did that twice. You can get a bus to most parts of the island but we used Bolt most of the time as they were very reasonably priced. We did visit St. Julians, St. Pauls Bay and the Mdina but by far the nicest area on Malta is Sliema. Absolutely loved Malta and would definitely go again and stay in this hotel again. (Little negative and hate complaining but we had a room on the 6th floor just below rooftop pool/bar area and at 6.20 on our first morning we were awoken by the cleaners moving and scraping furniture about - not what you need on your holiday! I did mention this to reception and we thought the problem had been solved, however, 2 days later it happened again - I think the cleaning rota needs looking at, as there is no need for the pool area to be cleaned at that time in the morning, maybe they should start in reception at that time and work their way up!) It didn`t really spoil our holiday but should be something you might want to consider if you don`t want to be woken that early in the morning.

It's a nice hotel but could be improved. On the plus side it's a short journey from the Airport in a central position. I will start by saying that most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived just after 11am. Check in was 2pm. We sat around fully clothed in the heat until we were able to check in. The room attendant was still in the room when we arrived. Unfortunately, the room wasn't ready for another ten minutes. Strangely, on check out day they were outside the room before 11am. The rooms are very minimalistic. I asked two days running if I could have some more hangers to no avail. I'm not sure if my request was lost in communication or just ignored? The attendant didn't seem to speak much English. This trip was mainly to visit some friends. As we had already had our main holiday, we tried to stick to our budget. To keep costs down, we didn't upgrade to a bay view. I can honestly say our balcony view was the worst I have ever experienced. We didn't want to sit out on the balcony which overlooked a car park. Worse than this was the amount of pigeons on the property opposite which was covered in pigeon poo and a dead pigeon. The room was clean, I felt that as it was late in the season, it was probably due a deep clean. I had to go to the bar to get glasses for water in the room. Tea & coffee was supplied but there was only one teaspoon. It was nice to have mugs rather than small teacups which are often in hotel rooms. The bathroom was clean and modern but badly designed. There wasn't a lip around the shower tray. The first time we used the shower it flooded the bathroom floor! We tried to angle the shower head to the corner of the cubicle and stand up one end but the shower hose kept on sliding down. It was a lovely spacious shower cubicle but we couldn't make the most of it. I love Maltese doors but not in a bathroom with no lock on the door. It looks nice but is not practical! On two occasions our room didn't get cleaned. We had put the' clean my room ' sign out and gone out. The reception did get it cleaned promptly but is wasn't nice to return to. Our deal included breakfast. The breakfast was ok but very repetitive. The restaurant was very busy and noisy at times. Some days we spent time by the pool. The view over the bay was lovely. It was a nice place to relax, that was until the music started blaring out! People did have to ask for it to be turned down on several occasions. It wasn't always suitable for what was an older clientele either. I'm not sure that you would get a sun bed in peak season as it filled up quickly in October. The café were missing a trick by not having nice snacks or decent coffee on sale. It was ok if you wanted a beer and some crisps. It was nice to have a choice of indoor or outdoor pool. The jacuzzi was a nice idea but didn't work properly. I used the sauna which was nice. A steam room would be a good addition. Towels were supplied. I treated myself to a massage while I was there. It was very good but not cheap. One tip I would give anyone needing a taxi. Download the Bolt app. The prices are very reasonable and you only need to request it when you are ready to go as they arrive in minutes. IF I ever stayed here again, I would definitely request a nice view. Not having one made a big impact on our stay. I guess it comes down to you get what you pay for! My thoughts are that a few tweaks could greatly improve the experience.
