“Classy hotel”

Went here with my sister for 70 th birthday for2 night stay.our room was lovely with great view beds were really lovely.Birthday tray left in room was a nice touch Breakfast was good .We had 2 meals n both were excellent.Staff were very nice .Hotel was decorated Fab for Christmas.

“Lovely Stay”

A wonderful stay with family. The food at dinner in particular was delicious. Possibly the best food I’ve ever eaten in a hotel setting. The cocktails were also lovely, as was the general ambience and decor. Staff very friendly. Room was a bit too warm for us, and the rasul didn’t generate as much steam as expected. But overall a fantastic stay.

I would rate this hotel around the three star standard. Celtic Tiger hotel built about 25 years ago. I would rate this hotel around the three star standard. Celtic Tiger hotel built about 25 years ago. Huge sprawling building from the outside but lots of the hotel is given over to conference/ functions rooms. Foyer/ lounger areas quite tired/ drab overall and in need of a refresh. Surprisingly dark inside. Rooms slightly below average size with fairly basic furnishings - wardrobes/ dressing tables constructed from MDF sheeting. Main disappointment was with the standard of the leisure facilities. In effect, the fitness room and pool operate as a shared facility with members of the public. Full use of hotel pool is limited throughout the day with sections cordoned off for childrens lessons, etc. Leisure centre overall is in need of investment and looming gloomy - doors to changing rooms warped and water damaged with rust, etc. Showers and lockers in poor condition and in need of replacement. Leisure centre staff lack a professional touch - they do not wear uniforms. Two or three staff sitting behind the counter chatting when I first went in. No effort made to point the direction to explain the facilties the changing rooms or explain where the pool is, provide a towel, etc. Noticed this each time I went to the pool during my stay. It gave a poor impression of the hotel. Evening meals eaten in hotel were average however breakfast was poor. Cuisine de France style frozen bread rolls and pastries, orange juice from concentrate, etc. Staff generally pleasant but lots of younger/ inexperienced staff in the restaurant. I would not intend to return and it made me appreciate Irish hotels which set higher standards for their guests.
