“Great breakfast”
Joined friends who were staying overnight for breakfast at The George. They raved about their room having apparently enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch and a good night’s sleep. Friendly staff and a delicious Butcombe breakfast at this amazing historic inn.

The menu was interesting and meals tasty and freshly cooked. We definitely recommend the George and hope to return.

Staff were genuinely similey, friendy and chatty, but not over bearing. Norton St Philip a lovely place to wander, but it is hillly. We did the Weary traveller loop walk well worth it, take good shoes the ground is uneven and as it was February muddy in places

We were greeted by a lovely log fire burning and a young lady who checked us in. She eas excellent and offered us a welcome drink. Both rooms were excellent. Josh served is dinner which was also excellent, again with the smell of a log fire burning. Breakfast had a very good selection and hit the spot. No wonder the George Inn was pub of the year last year. Congratulations to all. The place is beautiful but the staff made it an overall great experience.
