“Great location in Kata Beach, bad breakfast”

The color Kata is located not far from resturants and bars, and the beach (10 minute walk). However, the hotel offers a shuffle bus to the beach every hour. The room was nice, clean and modern, with a big comfy bed. Fridge worked well with free water, and air condition was good. The reception was helpful, and provided us with shower facilities after check out. The breakfast was boring and not worth the money. The first day we got surved two slices of light bread with strawberry jam, and a slice watermelon each, coffee and orange juice. The rest of the stay there was a buffey surving bread, overcooked egg, jam, tiny dry panncakes, an okay french toast, cold fried potatoes, melon and pineapple. No meat though. In addition you will have to cross the street for your breakfast. There are many other resturants in the street, so finding breakfast won’t be a problem. In all, a good stay that we enjoyed.

I booked the Color Kata from 31st Jan to 3rd Feb for a short trip. Check-In was handled promptly and efficiently and I was given a good room on the 3rd floor away from the traffic. The hotel is well located to access almost everywhere I wanted to go: Promthep, Karon, Tiger Kingdom and allowed scooter parking. It is also a quick walk to mini-marts, scooter rentals and restaurants. I cannot complain much about the hotel because it satisfied my immediate needs for the duration of my stay. What I can say is that I found the hotel to be located in a quieter street away from the madness of other hotels located by the beach. The Front Desk were also very nice in helping to arrange transportation to the airport and I am most grateful to them for it. There is nothing distinctively special about the hotel or it's service and please be prepared to have a 2500 baht cash deposit ready upon arrival.

My family needed a place to crash for a late night flight out of Phuket. We had originally been staying at the Sawasdee Village and they arrange for us to check into The Color for our late check out. It was nicer than we expected. The room was large and clean and the staff was friendly. There is no pool, but if you are looking for a affordable place in the heart of Kata, this is a decent place.
