We had a lovely holiday in May in Sighientu resort. Very nice hotel, just 40 min drive away from Cagliari airport. The food was very good, every day was a different choice of food, very well cooked and full of flavour. Loved it. Big beautiful swimming pool, very clean and plenty of Sun beds. The sea is very clean with crystal clear water. Staff in the hotel was lovely and very helpful. The room could be decorate better, the walls were empty and lacking style. If you are going to stay in this hotel, I would highly recommend to hire the car as there is nothing outside of the hotel near by. You need the car to go anywhere - No bars, no restaurants, nowhere to walk to, just long streets of private villas. We had the car, so we could travel to other places. Enjoyed our stay!! :)

I had to write a review after seeing some negative comments on other reviews - we stayed for a week (family of 4 with two teenage boys) and everyone really enjoyed their stay. The pool was one of the best I've seen at a hotel. Nice and big and with a sloping border all round so you could lie in the shallows as if on a beach which was a nice touch and it was still deep in the middle to swim. The hotel's private beach was metres away and a fine grey sand. If you wanted to swim it was a little stony and quite shallow when you were in the water but otherwise perfect for what it was (and we didn't find it covered in seaweed). There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool (and on the beach) but you could only guarantee a seat if you got there in the morning or reserved seats with towels (which did happen but not excessively). We did find if you went out in the morning you wouldn't find any space to sit back at the pool in the afternoon but that's pretty much expected at most hotels to be fair. I thought the food was excellent. Everything was well cooked and seasoned and lots of nice flavours. There was a good selection of dishes and there was only one night when I didn't really find a main I fancied but there was plenty of other fillers to make up for it. The only negative is the juices in the morning as these were from a dispenser and tasted way to sugary. Some fresh juices would be great. The pizza restaurant was also good but there was too much nice stuff to be able to eat it all! Our room was absolutely fine - not dated at all (and no ants!) and the aircon worked as advertised to give a comfortable night's sleep (despite some daytime temperatures reaching the low 40s when the humidity was taken into account!) The bed and pillows were nice and comfortable. The hotel itself and the grounds were well maintained and a comfortable and pleasant backdrop to our stay. All the staff were very friendly and obviously working very hard to make sure everything goes well for the guests. There is also a co-op about 5 minutes walk away and a restaurant by the marina (although we didn't try it) and it you wanted a walk you could follow the coast from the beach (although not at night as it is not lit!) We did hire a car though as this made it easy to get around and sightsee. The only real negative was the wi-fi - I could get a stable connection in our room on my laptop but for phones and tablets it just didn't work for more than a couple of minutes before dropping out (but more stable in the reception area) and so we worked around it by me hotspotting for my sons on my data roaming otherwise there would have been a mutiny! In summary, a great, friendly hotel and I would be more than happy to come and visit again.

We had to change our holiday destination last minute due to personal circumstances so we didn't have much time to do a thorough research. I was quite nervous about our holiday after reading some of the hotel reviews because some were quite negative. The only negatives that I would agree with are the WiFi and to an extent the quality of the drinks. The WiFi is indeed not very stable and could be improved on, but then again I would hope that people dont go on holiday to sit in their room and surf the internet. The majority of the all inclusive drinks were on tap and therefore sometimes not always the best quality, however I do understand that all inclusive has to be economically viable and many other hotels do the same so not an issue for us...I would recommend though that the hotel provides decent orange juice in the morning because the machine issued orange juice was not great, we therefore had the herb and fruit flavoured water instead. Overall our experience was very positive, the front of house staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a family room with view of the marina and the room was nice with very efficient air con. We didn't find the decor dated, our room was clean and well decorated. No sign of ants either (mentioned in some other reviews). The housekeeping staff were very efficient and fast. Some of the reviews mentioned that the food was bad, that was not our experience. We found that most of the time there was sufficient choice for different tastes. There was always a salad option, one or two pasta dishes, one fish dish and meat dish and potatoes/carbon option, vegetables and dessert selection. It was actually quite refreshing not to see chips/fries and pizza on the menu every evening. People should also be reminded that they are on holiday in a different country so cuisine will be different than at home. The pizza in the separate pizza restaurant was great and the selection was extensive. One recommendation would be to have the pizzas buffet style so people can choose a slice of what they want because it is impossible to eat everything that is offered to you. It should also be noted that the staff in the restaurant work very hard and although we visited during high season, we didn't witness any of the issues as mentioned in other reviews where people claimed they had to clear the table. The pool was one of the best that we have experienced in holiday as it was massive so space for everyone. We didn't witness any dirty pool water as mentioned in some other reviews. All in all a great holiday at this resort. Thank you for your hospitality.

There are some wonderful things about this hotel. The pool area is fantastic and very child friendly. My son loved the playground area and the little petting zoo. The beach access was good and we never struggled for sun loungers anywhere. The gym is good and has modern equipment and whenever we visited it wasn't over crowded. There are also some great restaurants a short drive away for those on B&B. The hotel is also a great distance from Cagliari and the airport. We also loved the eco friendly initiatives like the provision of water bottles and free water. Unfortunately though this hotel leaves a lot to be desired and my biggest complaint is with the staff. For a 4 star hotel, staff have got to be friendlier. Staff didn't speak to you unless you spoke to them, there were not enough staff in the restaurant which meant plates/bowls/cups ended up stacked on our table every day. The animation team sat around cross legged on counters on their phones and perhaps most concerning, more often than not the lifeguards sat together with their backs to the pool on their phones or chatting. More than one member or staff rolled their eyes at us. That being said, we found the front desk team to be really friendly and also the cleaning staff. The rooms need refreshing, the bathrooms are crowded and not big enough and our bedding didn't get changed for our whole stay despite being dirty. They did have great storage though. We were only bed and breakfast and to be honest I'm glad as we ate at the buffet once for dinner and found it to be severely lacking in choice. The food tasted good but I would be bored after more than a few days. The breakfast choice was the same every day. All in all, we had a pleasant stay at Sighientu and our family made some lovely memories there, there's just a lot of potential for it to be improved.
