“Not flash but clean and handy to everything”

The hotel is quite old and the corridors very brown, ie floors, carpets. Rooms also quite dark,, but we had a lovely view looking at the old castle from our window, beautiful as the sun came up. No lift so you have to hump your cases up, in our case, 3 floors. We had a little balcony. Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Very nice couple running the hotel, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, plenty of food and also hot choices. Short walk to the old city which is well worth visiting. We had been travelling for some time and needed to get some washing done. quite expensive to do it via the hotel, but there is a laundry round the corner. Excellent service, 3 euros per kilo, minimum of 4 kilos. Even if we did not have 4 kilos (which we did), it was still excellent value. Clothes beautifully folded an ironed. Hotel not flash, but a nice cheap and cheerful.

“Very good price/quality”

We stayed for a night and we had a very good impression. Service was good, besides to our surprise recepsionist made a nice discount with breakfast included. Good location of the hotel near by many beautiful monuments.

“Basic but comfortable and clean”

An ideal base to explore the Duoro Valley on the Spanish border. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were adequate and kept clean. Effective air conditioning! Hearty breakfasts. Highly recommend.

“Miranda, if a bit dour”

A dramatically poised frontier village is Miranda, and this is a dead central option. Nothing fancy, functional though tired looking rooms, averagely clean, not unfair value, considering there's little choice around. Good view from the front. Staff were ok.
