For couples who'd like a base point to go out to day trips outside and get back at night, this hotel would serve nicely. Not much more at all. The hotel is marked 4 stars in Madrid, which I don't understand how and by what criteria. Our room was tiny with queen-size bed, not a place on the ground to put our trolleys. Our room faced the inner yard, and had no air. The table has an electric kettle with a few, not appealing tea bags. I didn't look for it, my son and I came to travel, but the hotel doesn't have a gym, a spa, a pool, a conference center... Pros: a superb location - on Mayor Street, just opposite to st. Miguel Market. It is seconds from Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes from Puerta del Sol, and also from Opera station. The staff was very very nice and helpful, and helped in every question and enquiry. Breakfast was good and had a nice variety for everyone to start his/her day.

“Beautiful Madrid”

The hotel needs a thorough refurbishment. Definitely not 4 stars. Breakfast is adequate, but better display practises are required. Bedroom small as bed too close to walldrobe. Restroom washbasin is too high. Location is superb, close to all the main attractions, restaurants & shops.

Excellent location, close to many cultural sites, restaurants, bakery, souvenir shops, grocery, and money exchange. Plaza Mayor and El Mercado de San Miguel are just across the street. Puerta del Sol, Almudena Cathedral, El Vecino Curioso, San Gines, Royal Palace, Royal Theater, Plaza Espana, Temple of Debod and Galeria Canalejas are within short distance. Retiro park and Puerta Alcala are about 20 - 30 min walk. Staffs were superb and helpful in getting us a taxi to the airport. The lobby is small and hidden at the back which doesn’t rightly reflect the quality of the hotel. Hallway is a bit dated. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable but for 3 adults with large suitcases the room gets tiny. The closet has a very limited space for clothes and winter coats. There's a mini fridge, safe, Wifi, and a kettle but no cups or coffee/tea but the receptionists are more than happy to provide these when asked. Bathroom was updated with a nice spa like shower but was poorly designed causing much water to splash out and wet the floor during shower. It has no ventilation, shower floor gets slippery, black stains across some of the walls, sinks are extremely high for short adults/kids, and the glass bathroom door does not provide privacy if you're traveling with other people. Overall, not a bad hotel. The staffs and the location made up for it!
