Our family (7 people, 3 generations) enjoyed our 3 night stay. The apartment was very roomy, bedrooms suites had AC for good sleeping, and when their doors were open to living area, cooled that as well. Elena met us at Rialto vaporetto stop, took us straight to the apartment, and gave us all the information we needed, including nearby groceries, restaurants, etc. We bought groceries for simple breakfasts and evening appetizers, and enjoyed sharing them in the living room. Location was excellent, only a few minutes walk to San Marco or Rialto, with what became our favorite gelato stop nearby. A small (2 person) lift was appreciated by the older family members. Wi-fi worked best in living room; was spotty at busy times (5-8 p.m.) when several people tried to use it. We would definitely recommend this property to a group of 6-8 people.

You can't get a better location for visiting the sites of Venice, but it must be noted that the air conditioners are only located in the bedrooms so the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen do get very warm during the day. You can't get a better location for visiting the sites of Venice, but it must be noted that the air conditioners are only located in the bedrooms so the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen do get very warm during the day. This was disappointing for our family as we love to gather around in the evening and chat. We all come from Florida and Texas so we are used to the heat, but this was just stifling. Windows can be opened, but there was little breeze. The bedrooms were comfortable and cool so sleeping was not a problem. Some of the furniture is getting rather tired and could use an upgrade. We only used the kitchen for breakfast as it was rather poorly outfitted for cooking, but why would you want to cook when there are so many wonderful restaurants in Venice (not nearby, however, get away from the main tourist attractions). There is no dish washer so be prepared to wash your dishes. The refrigerator is small but adequate, however, if you want ice cubes bring your own trays. Overall, had we stayed at a cooler period, I would probably have rated this facility a 3.5 for its location and price.

We arrived in Venice on the Monday before Christmas and were greeted by an agent who showed us the appartment. When we asked her some questions about grocery shopping, she told us that she does not live in Venice, so she was no more helpful than an American guildebook we read in advance. The apartment location is perfect: it is in an alley off Calle del Fabbri, which connects Realto bridge to San Marco square. The appartment is on the fouth floor, and the elevator is old and fits only 2 people. There is an unpleasant smell comming from the canal. The rooms and the bathrooms are in dire need of repair. There is a strong smell of raw sewer in the bathrooms, and the ceilings have peeling paint from water damage. The living room furniture is falling apart so we could not sit on the chairs and sofas, since the rules say you will be charged for damage, and the deposit is a whopping $500. The kitchen is the worst room in the appartment. It has not been renovated since the 50s and looks like nobody has cooked there in years. The refrigerator has one shelf out of three broken. The oven does not work. There is no electric kettle or other basic apppliances, such as blender or mixer. My dad had to tighten the screws on the kitchen table, because it was very rickety. The linens and towels are old and worn out. All the beds are old and make moaning noises when you even just sit on the bed. Nevertheless, we had a good time because we laughed at all the inconveniences and tried to imagine this appartment in its time of glory.By the way, the internet connection is patchy.
