“Lovely cottage setting”

We stayed here with our 2 sons, and loved every second. Our cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable. The boys loved running around the farm, and seeing all the animals. Margaret and Fraser were so welcoming and friendly. There may have been tears from the boys when we left. This was also a great base for days out such as Drayton Manor and Waterworld.

We stayed for a week in this lovely farm house as Bed and Breakfast guests ,it is in a peaceful location ,very restful , Margaret and Fraser were wonderful hosts very friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble ,and the Breakfasts were amazing so much choice and it really set us up for the day ahead . Our room was spacious and very comfortable with an en-suite bathroom . I thoroughly recommend it as a real get away stay , a little gem !!

“Family long weekend”

We spent a long weekend at Offley Grove, there were 19 in our party including 5 children from 2 to 5 years old, staying in the Granary and The Old Brew House. The large table in The Granary sat all of us, and the pool table provided great evening entertainment. The children loved feeding carrots to the two donkeys, which are a new addition. The lounge was spacious and comfortable, the kids loved sitting and looking out of the large windows on to the open fields, watching the sheep and lambs. We throughly enjoyed the shooting experience, Fraser was very patient, friendly and attentive and did not mind when we increased the numbers from 8 to 12, despite being busy lambing! Would definitely recommend.

We recently stayed for 2 weeks as a 3 generation family of 6 people (including young children aged 4 and 6) in 'The Byng'. This review is based upon our personal experience, and where we do not agree with a statement in another review I am mentioning it. The property is spacious and although there are a number of other units plus some B&B accommodation, we were not aware of this most of the time and it often felt that we had the grounds to ourselves. We had no problems with our WIFI/Mobile reception. We had a fridge and a fridge/freezer - the freezer was not shared with other units. There is now no playground/pigs or alpacas, but the children enjoyed feeding the two donkeys twice a day. They ate most things (the donkeys) and when in doubt we googled specific items. Just go to the fence, shake the bag of goodies and they come running. Occasionally, the male donkey can get rather 'friendly' with the female! The hens wander around loose and have been known to enter if the door is left open. There is a long drive leading to the properties with a slight decline and our children loved riding their scooters down the drive. A few peddle-driven go-carts are provided but our children were too short to reach the peddles and they are not intended for adults so we didn't use them. The nearest shops are several miles away so bear in mind when arriving that you have with you the necessary provisions. We found that no soap, spare toilet rolls, cleaning materials or salt/pepper existed in the property so if these are important to you (particularly if staying for more than a few days) bring them with you. At the time of our stay eggs could be purchased by the roadside opposite the farm entrance. We found that the lack of shops was not a problem; we shop at Aldi's which exist at Newport, Market Drayton, Telford, Stone and Stafford - so whichever way we travelled each day we could use a supermarket (bring your Cool Bag with you) to obtain provisions. Our trips out were mainly to please the children. You will find our reviews on these places elsewhere; but to summarise: For Leisure Pool - Waterworld (Expensive-Not Visited), Dimensions(Good Value) Wildlife - Gentleshaw, Trentham Monkey Forest (Both worth a visit) Soft Play - Gingerbread House (Attached to pub), Jungleland, Come in to Play (visited all three - order of preference by children 1- CiTP, 2 GH, 3 Jungleland Cosford RAF Museum - Free and kids enjoy large planes/tanks Hilcote Valley Railway - Cheap. Same location as Gentleshaw Stafford Gatehouse Theatre is worth a visit if anything suitable is on; and the Weatherspoons in Stafford is spectacular (a converted Art Decor Cinema). If you stay here you will enjoy your holiday.
