We stayed for one night on our way back to the UK. It is a very historic location and it has a cheese museum - it is a cheese producing area. Had we researched it properly we would have stayed longer. The hotel is made from an old building with a new extension. Check in was good and we were offered the option of moving to their sister hotel with AC because of the extreme heat. We stayed. The rooms are quite small but adequate. The bed is comfortable and the shower facility very good. It delivers what you need. There is a very pretty garden attached to the hotel. It is shaded under trees or umbrellas. You can eat inside or out. We ate out under the trees. There is a set menu with some dishes having supplements. The food is very good and the service friendly and efficient. The hotel also has secure on site parking. All staff we spoke to were extremely welcoming. I would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here on a road trip through Southern France to experience their restaurant and were not disappointed. Set in an old Abbey the buildings and setting was fantastic and the setting in the village made for a really authentic stay. We loved the small village and the walking paths into the local forests were a great way to experience the area. The restaurant was superb, as one of Alain Ducasse's country Inns this definitely did not disappoint. Our evening meal was memorable and the breakfasts equally so. We found the accommodation a bit Spartan or rather dated, it was all quite comfortable but could have been more in keeping with the status of the cuisine. All in all we loved our stay and would recommend this to anyone wanting a culinary experience in the French countryside.

Stayed here for two nights on route to the Dordogne and one night on the way back. We were shocked on our return to be faced with a bill for drinks they said we do not pay on the first visit !! We paid as we left on our first visit what they billed us for and it seemed about right and we thought no more of it indeed we did not even keep the bill as we were satisfied with what we paid. Apart from this the Hotel is alright the owner who was there occasionally could never find it with in himself to engage with us and it was left to the young girls serving to show some hospitality only a couple of them really succeeding. The food was ok and as we were Demi Pension which normally means good local food here it consisted of a plate full of an individual vegetables ie either just carrots or just green beans plus either a lump of fish or meat plonked on top. Rooms were reasonably clean albeit very noisy and although we returned it was only because we could not be bothered to search for somewhere else. So in summing up we would say it's alright there will be a lot worse out there but from experience we know there are a lot lot more that are better.This place lacks someone giving direction and motivation to the staff.
