“Wonderful meal”

We had a beautiful meal, in the idyllic historic tudor building, it was cosy, friendly and well worth the money. The staff were very accomadating as im gluten and dairy free. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful, would recommend the tuna steak. We will definitely be returning.

Very nice and warm bedroom- recently refurbished. Would be nice though if a box of tissues were put in the bedrooms Breakfast served was lovely, albeit after a 40 minute wait for main course. Dinner was awful i.e. terrible service by the two lady waitresses. Ordered Olives and bread- bread arrived after we hade finished the olives Seafood Linguine was, in our opinion, not great -served on a plate and we think it had pork in it but Chef advised chunks of tuna- no spoons offered to eat the sauce with- no condiments on the table- other nearby customers were also unimpressed with their Caesar Salad. We declined the dessert as it had taken 45 minutes to serve the starter. Flat White coffee did not taste of coffee and was not hot enough. I would suggest that the waiting staff be trained more and the Chef look up what Seafood Linguine should consist of / look and taste like. We actually enjoyed our stay- but the evening meal was poor and staff poorer. It does not take brain science to check on whether customers are happy or need something. I am sure if this can be rectified -the Kings Arms will have many satisfied clients. The two young waitresses Sunday morning were much more efficient and helpful to all guests.

“Lovely hotel.”

A lovely hotel, great staff, lively atmosphere with real fires. Well situated to explore Old Amersham. We had a lovely, spacious room that had been recently modernised. A lovely hotel, great staff, lively atmosphere with real fires. Well situated to explore Old Amersham. We had a lovely, spacious room that had been recently modernised. Clean with a good size double bed. A couple of niggles: Our deal included a bottle of Prosecco. Two mini bottles had been provided, equating to half a bottle. Once queried, the staff corrected with a 'smile on their face'. We had originally booked the restaurant - a good two months before staying. However, we received a phone call a few weeks advising us that they had a big party and we were being moved to the bar. However, there was a varied menu and the food was very tasty. The only issue was that we ordered cheese and biscuits for desert. This took an extraordinary amount of time to arrive, maybe 45 mins to an hour. The staff were clearly embarrassed and very apologetic. In the circumstances they gave us the cheese and biscuits complimentary and removed the service charge form the bill. There was no hot water in the room, we had to bring it to their attention. Two lights in the bedroom had no bulbs. However, overall, we had a lovely stay and would not hesitate in booking again.
