Hello everyone, I wanted to briefly describe my impressions of my stay at the Leonardo Hotel, Watford. My stay was a short one night stay 10 January - 11 January 2025. The lady taking the booking at the hotel reception very smiling and helpful. The room itself as to size (triple) was just right for three adults with hand luggage. The room was bright, clean and had all the basic amenities like kettle, cups, glasses, coffees, teas, towels, soap, shampoo, shower gel etc. At one point our air conditioning wasn't working (the room wouldn't heat up), after a phone call to a member of reception staff five minutes later a hotel employee provided us with a heater and the room immediately became warm. I bought an overnight stay with breakfast, I am a vegan (sometimes on trips when I have no choice I try to eat something vegetarian e.g. eggs, cheese, milk to eat anything from the breakfast I paid for. In this case for vegans there was nothing that wasn't a vegetable, a vegetarian can cope, from friends feedback the breakfast was very good and sufficient, what I ate I also enjoyed. A nice option when checking in for breakfast, the gentleman asks for your room number and directs you to either a free table or one designated for you (I don't know how it is) but this resulted in no confusion with space, racing with plates to a free table or ‘occupying a table in advance’ with plates. A cool option, I hadn't encountered this anywhere before. It was a short stay, but if I were in this location again, I would definitely consider booking at this hotel. I would sincerely recommend it!

Stayed as part of the holiday extra Harry Potter studio tour Rooms are very nice and we would recommend this to anyone staying in Watford Close to a car park which was only £4 when you put your registration in at the reception 2 minute walk to the town centre and an abundance of restaurants and… more

“LOVELY HOTEL IN WATFORD”

Lovely hotel. Big room. Such a nice lobby!! Very festive in Christmas. I love that they have water upon arrival. Right next to the city centre and train station. Good food & kind service. “ups and downs”

Experience reflective of the price. Staff members were mostly all friendly and courteous. Receptionist who checked us in, I believe Jackie greeted us with cordiality. Experience reflective of the price. Staff members were mostly all friendly and courteous. Receptionist who checked us in, I believe Jackie greeted us with cordiality. Key cards however were a major problem, during my two weeks stay, I had to go replace them 4 times in total which was quite troublesome. The housekeeping is not excellent, again reflective of the price of the hotel as they often forget the 'basic amenity items' and I have to contact reception for the items. Most staff members offered them without questions asked, however one of the days, I walked up to reception and told 'Allen' about the situation and she responded in such a condescending tone it was infuriating. She said housekeeping finishes work at 4pm, so if you need items it would be best to call and get them before 4pm. Firstly, I am on holiday, obviously I would not be in my room checking immediately if they've given me all the basic items in my room. Secondly, I am only asking for the basic amenity items such as bath towels (No towels were given), no toilet tissues were given either. She made such a big deal out of these items when it was her team that was at fault, as if she felt as if she was of a higher authority and is not responsible for dealing with housekeeping duties like giving me towels. What I might add is that you are of higher authority yes, but you work as a team, if your housekeeping team makes a mistake, you as the staff of higher authority is in charge of covering and resolving the issue. She even tried to refuse to replace my 3 broken key cards, gave me 2 back only, when I said your key cards never work, the other staff gave me 5 just in case. Overall, the hotel was worth 4 stars, however this staff member ruined the experience hence the 3 stars.
