“Nice summer holiday here”

Went in August when it was 30 odd degrees (celcius). Was pretty warm but we had a swim up room, which we constantly used. The pools outside were really nice, the ones that weren’t private were usually pretty crowded. The path outside was often pretty warm, so I definitely recommend bringing some flip flops to easily slide into. There were some things that uou needed extra euros for like bottles of water and plug converters. The Heraklion airport was only 15 minutes away directly via coach. The room was nice and the mini fridge was regularly restocked. The slides outside were really fun and enjoyable. The evening entertainment was good too. The kids waterpark was really nice, with a stall next to it selling delicious ice creams and nice lattes too. The food in the main restaurant was nice, although plain eaters would probably struggle to have a full meal there, we enjoyed it though. As usual in an all-inclusive, the food does get a bit repetitive after a while, but there were always a couple of new things. The one con about the main restaurant was…. The. Chairs. I can’t even explain how loud the squeaks were on the floor, and it was constant. But, if you sat outside it wasn’t so bad. The other two restaurants were also ok. The Greek one called Smile was nice but certainly different to a ‘typical restaurant’. It bought out all the food on the menu for you to try. Again, certainly not the best for picky eaters, although we still enjoyed it. The Asian restaurant was good. They give you a bowl of rice with each main course, and the food itself was flavourful and tasty. The staff at this hotel were always really friendly and approachable. Thank you ☺️!

“Great family resort”

We had a great holiday staying at Gouves Waterpark, the hotel and park was very clean and the food and drink was excellent. We had a great holiday staying at Gouves Waterpark, the hotel and park was very clean and the food and drink was excellent. The swimming pools and slides were great and accommodation was clean and comfy. Our only complaint was that as we were staying over October half term the park was winding down for season close, this meant that activities and facilities were stopping/closing towards the end of the week and on our last day the slides and food huts not operating. Whilst we appreciate the park needs to prepare for closing, it was a little disappointing that we didn’t get the full experience of the resort as advertised. We would definitely recommend staying at Gouves Waterpark, but to bear the above in mind if staying at the end of the season.

Travelled as a family of 5 ( 2 adults, children 15,13 & 11). We had a private transfer from the airport, Jet2 were visible as soon as you walked into arrivals and we were quickly shown to our mini bus. Arrived in the evening to the hotel and we were worried that we had missed the evening meal ( a family member is type 1). When we checked in, the receptionist said that they had kept the restaurant open for an extended time as they had guests arriving late which was a releif. Reception staff seemed friendly and helpful. Went and dumped our bags in the room and headed to get food. Room was ideal for us as a family of 5, had 2 rooms with interconnecting balcony over looking 1 of the kids pools and small pool bar. Food and snack bars were great. Always plenty of options for us all and my husband is really fussy with food but he enjoyed everything that he had. You can help yourself to what ever drinks you want in the restaurant area when it is open. Snack bar and bars are open 11 - 6. They have pizzas, Gyros, burgers, fries & ice creams outside which are good. You can order any drink you want from the bar and take it back to your sun lounger. We went in the October half term and there was always plenty of sun beds to choose from by which ever pool you wanted to go by. I don't know what the chances would be like in the summer. The entertainment team are great, with water polo on every day by the slides pool. The pool was freezing but wasn't too bad when you got used to it. As they were winding for the season I found it really bizarre that the entertainment & most of the bar staff finished on Wednesday 30th when they still had guest until Friday 1st. I am so glad we came home the day before. Short walk to the beach, a lot of places had already closed for the winter. Went on the road train, not really much at all to see around the area but if you want to get out of the hotel for an hour to have a look around then its worth it, very bouncy so a recommend a decent bra. I think this hotel is more suitable for younger children from 4 - 8 years old just for the amount for them to do. All the staff were happy and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. A couple of resident cats floating around and even more in the resort its self but I like cats so they didn't bother me but the husband is not a fan but they never bothered us. The airport coming home is small and expensive 5.20 euros for a coke from the burger place.

A great family stay, we were a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children). Plenty of vegetarian choices and my kids loved the ice cream! A great family stay, we were a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children). Plenty of vegetarian choices and my kids loved the ice cream! The staff are what make the place great especially Maria and the gentleman who worked at the pizzeria. Always service with a smile. Only reason for the 4 stars is we went end of season so entertainment closed early. Although the animation team were fantastic and worked so hard. Also adult entertainment was not the best. We stayed in the family room and it was quite outdated. However a great stay for all ages and child friendly.
