Everything the other reviewers said. Location to numerous water buses is very convenient. The staff were terrific, breakfast lovely...small rooms, but hey! Its Venice! Wgat are you doing in your rkom anyway!

I stayed at Hotel de l'Alboro 12 days in August/September coinciding with the Venice Film Fest. It's located just steps from the Sant Angelo Vaporetto stop, very convenient for grabbing the water bus to travel quickly through the city. Also very close walking to Campo Manin, steps from Campo Santa Angelo and on to the Fenice Opera House, Campo Santo Stefano, with many restaurants, and just a bit farther the Accademia Bridge and Dorsoduro district. The hotel is quiet, family run, and friendly. A nice, simple breakfast buffet is provided. Light boat traffic outside your window on the small canal is entertaining while taking a break from touring, eating, and drinking prosecco! Rooms are simple, clean, and everything you need for your home base while enjoying Venice.

“Friendly, polite and perfectly situated.”

The de l'Alboro is in a perfect location for sightseeing and transport links, and is excellent for a short break. Right next to the vaporetto stop San Angelo, it is a short walk to anywhere. The rooms are spartan, and could do without the TV (who goes to Venice to watch television?), and the bath… more

The de l'Alboro is in a perfect location for sightseeing and transport links, and is excellent for a short break. Right next to the vaporetto stop San Angelo, it is a short walk to anywhere. The rooms are spartan, and could do without the TV (who goes to Venice to watch television?), and the bathrooms small, but this is Venice and the price for this level and location more than makes up for this. The tiled floors are very cold in winter, so bring your slippers. The breakfast is served with charm and fabulous coffee, the service is friendly and polite. We will definitely stay there again.

“For the Budget-Conscious”

The hotel is located within walking distance from the S. Angelo/Sant’Angelo ferry stop and in one of the quieter areas of Venice. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy sections, but walking back to the hotel through deserted streets at night with limited street lights might be a bit much for some. Speaking of walking, those walking from Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia, it is a nice brisk 30-minute walk, but have your trusty GPS on your phone ready because all those side streets get confusing fast. Not just getting to the hotel, but I think getting around Venice on foot can be confusing. The hotel staff was warm and receptive. The front doors are locked after a certain time every night, but each time I came back late and rang the doorbell to get back in, the staff were friendly and didn’t seemed bothered. The "cozy" room was a no-frills room with dated furniture, a TV that didn't pick up much signal, and a bed that was on the hard side, but for the price I paid I couldn't really complain that much. The AC functioned properly, so that was a relief especially after a day of walking in the heat and humidity. I do have to say that the toilet was placed oddly close to the shower stall in the bathroom. It was so close that every time I needed to sit on the toilet I had to sit sideways or my right leg would hit against the shower stall door. The view from the room looked out to a canal. It was a side canal and not the Grand Canal, but I still thought this was a very Venice thing. For those on a budget and don’t mind a bland room, I think this hotel gets the job done.
