“Very good”

Very good and convenient Hotel. I went for Business and El Dorado was an excellent point, far away from the busy and crowd city centre or costanera avenue, but still close in a short taxi hop to the night life.

For a bed and breakfast hotel it was not a bad choice. We booked this hotel that was included in a package that was offered to us by our travel agent. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the business and working center. Nearby the hotel are several little restaurants and fast food chains and adjacent to the hotel is a TGIF restaurant which also caters to In-room dining of the hotel. Highly recommended was the Leños y Carbon which is just about two minutes away from the hotel. Check in was smooth and we were efficiently checked in by friendly agent Melissa. Carlos Coleman who carried our luggage to our room provided us with very good and useful information throughout our stay. The hotel also features continental breakfast offering a variety of hot and cold items, fresh fruit,coffee and tea. The two rooms that we got were fresh and clean upon arrival, however we did not have a view but that didn't matter much as we don't care to have a view in the middle of the city,and offered various amenities like a coffeemaker, small fridge and microwave and free wi-fi. The hotel is also about 8 minutes away from the re-known Al brook shopping center, which is huge, offering a variety of retail outlets from well known brands to very economical clothing and shoes stores. Electronics are very cheap in comparison to even the US. According to the natives it is even better to shop in December when the prices are drastically reduced.There is also a huge food court in this mall,where you can eat very cheap at about average $ 6 to 9 US dollars per person. We were offered the hotel's shuttle service which leaves at 11AM and 2PM sharp. You need to take a cab back to the hotel though, which will cost you $5 per ride. A tip will be to only take the yellow cabs as you also have the white ones which will hustle you between 8 and 9$. Not to far away about three blocks up away from the hotel,there is the El Dorado shopping mall. It is a small kind of rundown mall that is currently under renovation and almost diagonally across the street there is a large Do It Center.The hotel is about a fifteen minute ride away from the Panama Canal which was awesome. The canal offers a breath taking view of the ships passing through the canal and it also has a museum and a small theater, that shows you the history of the canal. We were lucky to get a cab driver who offered us a tour for $60 of the canal, a place called Mi Pueblito and to the ruins of the old panama, casco antiguo(old town). The old town is currently under reconstruction by the governments and is a multimillion dollar undertaking. The hotel is about a twenty minute ride from the airport depending on traffic. Panama city itself has a contrast of modern and old buildings and is continuously under development. Donald Trump has a large and modern building here. Shopping is cheap depending on what you want to buy, and there are several large shopping malls besides the Al Brook, like the Metro Mall and Multiplaza which are a bit more upscale and pricier than the Al Brook mall. This concludes my review and I hope it serves you as a guide and I certainly plan to come to this city and hotel sometime in the future.

“Not a great vacation if you are trying to vacation.”

It is not really near anything, that I could tell. I walked around the area and it was mostly strip malls. It appeared to be the "chinatown" of Panama City. The room was average, but the bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful.
