“Great even without power !”

I happened to be here during Cuba's 3 day huge blackout and let me tell you that the hotel wasn't affected by that at all. They run a power generator here looks like and everything working fine (AC included). The manager of the hotel ,a young fellow named Lenier (hope I spelled it right) is always around making sure everything works. Food was good fish , beaf , lots of chicken and roasted pork twice. Breakfast was a bit repetitive the last 3 days but there is always a snack bar around the corner. There is a nice coffee bar at the lobby they make great capuchino. Is very quiet,beach is beautiful, nice place to relax. Rooms are fine I 've seen better and worst. But very acceptable . Highly recommended if you coming to relax and have a great time in Cuba . Will attach some real photos hopefully will inspire someone. Will come back again .

Lots of locals and things to buy on the beach ( cigars, rum, honey) they are not pushy, bring food for the cats, staff and locals they are missing everything . For 10$ we went kn a catamaran for a snorkeling mission, Beach could be more Clean but for a 2.5 what do you expect. We enjoyed ourselves and would hope more people came to make this place more lively 🇨🇺❤️🇨🇺❤️🇨🇺❤️🇨🇺

“No Flashlight For The Bad Bartender!”

We went to Club Amigo Ancon Feb 5th to 12th 2025. The Hotel is under renovation but our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The maid service was top notch. The front lobby was immaculate and beautiful. With one exception, the staff was very attentive and seemed to be very happy that we were there. The food was on the High side of Standard Cuban Fair and we didn't notice any real shortages being offered. I personally Really Liked that there were many young people in training for most of the positions within the Hotel! The One exception to the Great Service, was a Male Bartender at the Lobby Bar. I don't know his name but I was told that he has been in this position for more than twenty years. My Wife and I asked for a Spanish Coffee and He told us that they don't make those. Several days later, we saw him making and delivering two Spanish Coffee's to another Client. We called him on it and He responded that it "had a different name". To make matters worse, we we talking to some other tourists , on the parknfly bus, on our way to the truck, and they told us that they stayed there last year and loved this same Bartender because He made them Spanish Coffee everyday. They even showed us a picture of Him on their phone. For this reason, We will probably never return to this Hotel. Lastly, one might think that we weren't generous enough with the staff, but they would be wrong. We were giving out Rechargeable Flashlights like Candy among other things. If they read this, they will know who were are because of this.

I tried the Forum section but, it is a little dated. (5 years) I wanted to ask a question to recent travellers about rooms. I see a couple of categories of rooms, 2 of which mentions Bayview and Tropical Seaview with varying pricing. I have tried contacting the hotel; but, to no avail. Do any of the recent travellers have any information on this topic; it would be immensely appreciated. We are looking for a 6-8 week stay and room selection is very important. Thankyou
