We really did have an amazing time! We would absolutely return and pay for more activities. It’s really opened our eyes to this sort of environment when we usually stay in hotels. So before I continue I would highly recommend this place. The Europe ones are so so much cheaper than the uk ones so it’s amazing value for money. We thoroughly loved the Baluba and aquamundo (could have been a bit warmer one some days though)! So much to do for my young daughter it was honestly incredible! We could easily have spent our week there alone! My only niggles would be to do with cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance. I don’t expect everything to spotless when we only paid £500 for the week but I do expect basics things like a kitchen towel, bath matt, soap and bin bags! The garden maintenance was shocking and my daughter couldn’t play outside in the garden once because it was so bad. The bedrooms were rather dirty (walls, corners ect). The rest of the cottage was fine though. The farm experience/farm animals (we did the free one) was shockingly bad. It was literally a bunch of animals shoved together in the middle of some sandy banks. The animals don’t look well looked after at all and I don’t really think it’s fair on them to be constantly poked and prodded and looked at. My young daughter loved looking at them and stroking tbem but I just felt sad for them frankly. We didn’t do anything else except for drive around the country and visit the cities. We did have a disabled pass so being able to have the car nearby was a massive bonus and my other half really struggles with a lot of walking, however this place did encourage to do more so it was great! The weather was a lot colder than anticipated so the heating was welcome. Not sure how we old have coped in the heat mind as the heat does not escape well at all from cottage. However we did absolutely love our stay and really can’t wait to come back and try out more

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our week here- the park is clean, varied and full of surprises. The staff are helpful and all speak English which is really useful! When you drive in, it feels huge and I couldn’t see how we’d walk from our cottage to the main areas with young children but you get used to the small little paths and everywhere is accessible in just a few minutes’ walk. Highlights: - Aqua Mundo is a big hit with the kids. It is huge, clean and full of fun little pools for all ages. The changing rooms are separated into pre and post swim which keeps you clean and stress free! - There are lots of free things to do ass you walk around the park that use up pockets of spare time. - Baluba, the soft play centre, is great and entertains the children for ages. - Lots of activities to do for all ages. Make sure you book in advance! Family quiz night and the live entertainment was good fun and they interpret into Dutch, English and French! - It’s an easy crossing over to The Netherlands- around a 40min drive- and a great day out. We went to Eindhoven and saw the PSV stadium and then into the town for lunch. Things I’d do differently next time: - Pack fewer ‘dressy’ night time clothes. Everyone is very relaxed in the evening. - Pack more towels. The towel package isn’t great and just gives you a big towel and a hand towel. Not enough for me with thick long hair! They’re also quite thin. Luckily I packed a bath mat so didn’t need to ‘waste’ a towel on that. - Pack pillows! The pillows here are not very comfy. - Get more food in advance from the Aldi down the road. The food in the cafe(s) is very nice but costly and the shop is also expensive. If you can do a few nights of dinner at the cottage, it’s worth it. With no oven, it does require a good bit of pre planning though. - Take slippers! The cottage floors get a bit grubby (which is understandable considering you’re trekking around in sand and mud) but I had to constantly wear flip flops because I couldn’t bear the dirt on my feet! - Take clothes hangers. You only get 4 per room. - Pack fewer clothes (more towel and pillow space!) and use the laundrette instead. I used it on day 4 and it’s super easy- just drop off the clothes, they weigh it and charge €5 per kilo then it’s ready for pick up a few hours later (dried too). - Pack an air freshener for the small, unventilated toilet… you know what I’m saying! Good to know: - If travelling from the UK, it’s well worth a stop off in Ghent. The city is beautiful and easy to navigate. Saying that, don’t drive into the centre unless you’ve preregistered your car as you’ll be fined (we found this out the hard way 😭) - Aldi and Lidl both close by to Erperheide - Cash not really needed… everything payable by card. - We did a day trip to Peer and Bree but everything was shut! We went on a Saturday afternoon and suspect it would have been a lot more vibrant if we’d gone in the PM. Was a bit of a wasted afternoon with the exception of a visit to Leonidas (chocolate shop). - If the cafe staff ask if you want sauce, they charge over a euro on top. We took a bunch of McDonalds salt and sauces with us!! - Take toilet roll and dishwasher tabs. You only get 1 loo roll and we didn’t even get 1 dishwasher tab. - The activities are all bookable on the website or via reception. They don’t show chronologically on your CP account so a paper calendar version is very helpful to keep track of all you’ve got planned. - Bedroom lights have USB ports so no need to pack full phone plug-chargers. - The mirror in the bathroom is massive but useless once anyone has had a shower. And there’s no other mirror except a tiny one on the front door. Take one with you!! Enjoy!
