“Wish we could have stayed longer!”

We stayed 2 nights at the Mey Hotel late August after leaving Inverness en route to Ullapool. There was easy communication with owners Emma and Euan prior to arrival. Great choice of accommodation, and close to the Castle of Mey and Duncansby Stacks amongst other sights. We were lucky enough to have our dates coincide with Cote du Nord, a culinary fine dining experience was a real treat on the Saturday evening and the following night our meal was cooked by Euan which was also very enjoyable. The lounge area of the Hotel was cosy and a great place to sit and relax (would be even more so on colder evenings with the fire alight), a lovely atmosphere, and Emma's conversation about the history of the Hotel was very interesting. Both Emma and Euan were warm and welcoming, and we would have liked to stay another night or 2 if our itinerary wasn't so tight. Would certainly stay again should we be able to return.

“Gem of a place”

Stayed for one night on route to Orkney. What a find ! Euan and Emma very courteous and knowledgeable about the area ( and the whisky!) Stayed for one night on route to Orkney. What a find ! Euan and Emma very courteous and knowledgeable about the area ( and the whisky!) Food fabulous and the home made ginger cake was light as a feather and some of the best we had ever tasted. Sadly hubby had finished his bread and butter pudding before I got a sniff! Lovely homely feel bar and restaurant area , bedrooms lovely off the courtyard with a lovely walk out the back. It’s amazing they do all this with just the two of them. Will definitely be back 😃

Stayed for two nights while on a leisurely trip along the iconic North Coast 500 road trip. Emma and Euan offer great hospitality - a friendly welcome, a really comfortable room and good food for breakfast and an evening meal. And they had plenty of time to chat about the area and what's going on, as well as help you choose from their excellent range of local gins and whiskies - why not try a whisky 'flight' while you're staying? We work in hospitality ourselves and we have quite high expectations - Emma and Euan have it nailed. Highly recommended!
