We bumped into this place quite by sheer coincidence but it was worthwhile the visit. We spent only a night but could've spent a little longer should we have had holidays. Apparently it's almost full all-year round, mainly at weekends, thanks to its mere 6 rooms and sited not far from places of natural interest, but the day we stayed there we didn't see a soul since it was a Sunday. Manolo, the owner, loves chatting and entertained us when he was asked about the surroundings. Our room was on the first floor (Tierra, I reckon it was called) and it had an en-suite bathroom plus a reading/resting room with an interesting array of mags and books. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom, adequate and the decor was nice and proper for a house that had been restored some 5 years ago. Breakfast was served on the first floor and we couldn't finish all that had been prepared for us. Although the hotel is quite charming, the village lacks of any significant feature. All in all, this cosy hotel is suitable for those who want to travel around El Bajo Aragón or even pay a call to Matarranya, an area with a village called Vall-de-Roures with a gorgeous castle both in the province of Teruel in East Spain

I had booked a trip in April and had arranged hotel accommodation but 28 days before travelling the hotel shut down. I had to find a quick alternative and took a chance on Casa de la Fuente. Upon arrival on my motorcycle in the pouring rain I eventually worked out that I had to ring the owner and he came over a few minutes later and let me in. Through very broken Spanish on my part, a lot of hand gestures, and no English on his part we managed to communicate. The room was small but quaintly decorated and good enough for my needs. The hotel is more a hostel with no live in owner. The breakfast was fine and the three days there a pleasure. The town is very Spanish and little English spoken but it is very pretty and the local restaurants do good food. I was lucky in that over the course of my stay the town closed for traffic and there was an excellent easter festival. Well worth watching and a added bonus.

My wife Heather and I stayed here when we attended last weekends World 2CV Meeting at nearby Alcaniz. We were warmly welcomed by Raquel and Manolo who in spite of not speaking English tried their best. They telephoned their neice Christina who popped over and gave us plenty of advice. Our room was small, no minute, and we had trouble sleeping the first night because of the heat. We actually had trouble sleeping during the entire two weeks stay in Spain because of the high temeperatures. They kindly brought in an electric fan for the next night which helped a little. The room was very clean but the breakfast......Wow! It was like a banquet and we felt embarassed as we should have eaten more but again, the heat had dented our appetites. Christina took us to her favourite new restaurant in the village for the next two nights. Parking can be difficult but we parked directly outside each night. Steep hill and I MUST get that handbrake adjusted. They made a lovely job restoring the hostel - see the before and after photos in the bar. Many many thanks.
