“An absolutely fabulous stay!”

I spent a week at the Arpoador in Rio de Janeiro, and just returned home. It was an absolutely delightful stay right after Christmas and through the New Year holiday. A few things that I would call out about what I loved during my stay at Arpoador: -The hotel's location is absolutely perfect. Central to the best of Ipanema and Copacabana...and it pays off in wonderful ways: you can easily walk (safely!!!) to most places in the neighborhood, and you feel like the city is your oyster. -The rooftop bar is absolutely spectacular. A small dipping pool and endless views of the Ipanema beach & skyline are tremendous (during the day and most particularly during the sunset hour). -Breakfast at the Arpbar is fabulous. I loved getting to start my day watching beach-goers get started. Just so fun and perfect. -Perhaps most importantly, the staff was absolutely delightful. A few specific call-outs I would offer: Paulo(u?), Samuel, and Nick in the lobby were all so extraordinarily helpful, accommodating, and attentive. So, too, was a water at the bar/restaurant, Douglas. Everyone, though, was tuned into guests' needs. A few additional call-outs: -The rooms themselves are efficient, clean, bright, well-appointed, but not huge. But who spends tons of time in a hotel room in Rio, anyway!? I was comfortable there with my large suitcase, etc. for the week. -There is a small but highly functional gym. Pro-tip: there's also an outdoor gym just around the corner by the Arpoador rock :) -If I were to offer one suggestion, it would be to offer more/larger water bottles (or install water filters into the taps): I often had to ask for refills of water in the lobby. I most definitely hope to return to Rio, and when I do, I will definitely plan on staying at Arpoador!

Only on-beach hotel along the entire Ipanema/Copacabana coastline. Onsite restaurant was good, rooms were comfortable (pillows were too soft and lumpy) but staff were excellent. “Great Hotel”

Great place! The location, the vibe, the service, the waiters, specially Ivan the argentinian! Such a nice guy 🙂. Very nice restaurant with beach view perfect for dinner with sunset. Will definitly be back when I return to Rio. Thank you!!!

“Highly recommended - not cheap - but glad we splashed out!”

Fantastic location. Glad we chose the larger room with the sea view and hammock as that really made the stay special! All the staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Fantastic location. Glad we chose the larger room with the sea view and hammock as that really made the stay special! All the staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Ate lunch in the restaurant twice as it's such a nice spot with a varied menu. Great to have the complimentary chairs and brollies provided on the beach directly in front of the Hotel. The receptionist team went out of their way to welcome us and then help us with our bags and get safely into our uber on our departure. Thank you Samuel Adreus for your personal touch.
