“Perfect for business trip”

A group of us stayed here while at a 6 day conference last week! This hotel was perfect! Really close to the sea (2min walk) for spare time. What makes the place so special though are the ladies that run in! From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly! We had breakfast at the pool 3-4 days and it was perfect! The lady who runs the bar/kitchen was soooo nice and made sure we were well fed!! Overall a great stay!! Would defo recommend!!

“Super value for money”

We stayed one week on this lovely family run hotel. Hotel is on short side street, so it´s quiet but still close to everything. Beach is max. 2 min. walk. Our apartment was spacious and clean. We had 2 balconys. Interior design was basic Greek style. There was big fridge, coffee maker and stove. AC was powerful and free. Also safe was free and it was in the room. Apartment was cleaned every day and they did good job. Hotel had pool between two buildings. There was also pool bar and free sun loungers. There was no obligation to buy something to use free sun loungers, like someone wrote before. Everybody was very kind and extremely helpful. They even arranged our taxi transfer to airport free as a present from them. Only negative issue was unstable Wi-Fi. On the another hand, I think this is not hotel´s fault, because I couldn´t find stable Wi-Fi anywhere in Platanias... We have been in Platanias 3 times before and stayed every time in different hotels. If we still go back to Platanias someday, we will definitely choose Apollon Studios again.

We're literally just back from our week's stay here. The hotel is very nice, and the staff are excellent. They spoke very good English, and were always friendly, willing to chat, and always very helpful. The room was a good size, and had a nice roomy verandah (ground floor). There was everything there that you needed, but it was a slice basic on the utilities side. We felt a set of drawers (a lot of wasted floor space!) would have provided more useful storage, and although there was a 2 ring burner and a kettle, there wasn't a microwave or a toaster, so it limited us a lot on what we could cook. With a little expenditure on providing these simple things we feel the apartments would get an extra star on their hotel rating. There was a very nice little bar poolside (we didn't use the pool, so can't comment on that!), which was manned by very friendly people, and we were very impressed that on our arrival at 1-30 am, they had kept it open so that we could get a drink to help us relax. Now THAT is good service!! A short walk to the beach, passing a LIDL for your self catering supplies. Won't mention the restaurants and shops, as this review is about the hotel. All in all a nice week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had they had the extra facilities I mentioned, it would have got a 5 star rating from us!!

This apartment block is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Quiet location with very pleasant hard working staff. Continental breakfast option if required. Small shop on site for essentials, two ring electric stove for making basic meals. Lovely balcony or terrace with four chairs. Superb pool for keeping cool. Lots of sunbeds available, small snack bar open from 11.00 am til late (snacks til 5.00pm). Well maintained apartments, very clean. Irene very pleasant and helpful and speaks superb English. Could not have asked for more for the money paid. Rethymnon fabulous, especially at night when it comes alive. Local bus available, 1.30 euros each per journey from Platanes main street (buy your tickets in advance from the kiosk). Taxi is 9 euros from hotel. Very highly recommended. Would love to return.
