But, they need to turn off the pool sign. Good price, room was very clean, comfortable and well furnished with all the amenities. Breakfast counter was small but very adequate with cold and hot cereal, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, a good assortment of pastries and fruit. The property is off the main drag away from most dinner options. Pet peeve: "Indoor Pool" sign is on and brightly illuminated - and yet, the pool is drained. This is misleading, false advertisement, and dishonest.

The Regency used to be in the Americas Best Value Inn chain, and that is reflected in the unchanged interior decor and hotel receipts which have one name on top and the other name on the bottom. Contrary to what another reviewer said, the motel is at the west end of town directly on highway 6, which was the main drag long before there was an interstate 80. The area and the motel were both quiet, which is the main thing I look for more than the star rating. I also paid $70 plus tax for a total of $77 and change for two people, substantially less than the Best Western just off the exit and there is plenty of parking. The "breakfast" is only coffee and juice, but that was no big deal. We slept well which is the most important thing on a road trip. The room, bed, and bathroom were clean which is also very important. I will point out a couple of minor annoyances so you will be aware of them. In this age of covid, it bothered me that I had to reach through the heavy partial room drapes and the shams in order to reach the blackout curtains and close them. Like many motels, the sink is in the main room instead of the bathroom so you have to go in and out of the bath room more. Second, said bathroom door opened to the room door so if anyone was trying to get in or ouf the room while someone else was coming in or out of the bathroom, the two doors hit. There was a microwave and small fridge but no alarm clock. I know most people carry and program phones smarter than they are but when I wake up in a strange place in the middle of the night it is strangely comforting to see the numbers glowing on a bedside clock. Ice machine worked. I did not see an elevator, so if mobility is an issue get a first floor room. Also, for the elderly or disabled or small children, at least in our room the toilet and bath had no grab bars and there was not a non slip surface so we just put one of the towels down on the floor.
