We arrived in the late afternoon tired and wet from lugging our luggage from the train station to the accommodation in the rain. The room we were given was a bit too small for my wife’s liking but the host of the property, Matteo, was very kind to allow us to change rooms after one night. He even arranged for our belongings to be transferred to the new room while we were out taking in the sights. Rooms were clean and breakfast was a good spread. Matteo even drove us to the train station as it was raining too the day we checked out. Great service — kind and hospitable.

The Albergo Meuble Stelvio goes by several names apparently and the cover photograph is of the view from the hotel and not a picture of the hotel itself. Be that as it may it is situated in a great location and a short 10 minutes bag drag from the train station. The rooms are relatively spacious with ultra modern bathroom fixtures and the staff is friendly and welcoming, Breakfast is a great value at six Euros.

I had a room on backside but it was still very noisy because of huge car traffic on Statate Stello Stelvio street. Meanwhile, room was clean. Another downside : book your room on a website like hotels or booking. If you are showing yourself at the desk without booking, they will tell you there is a mistake and no room is available at the rate shown. They will instead propose you a much higher rate and tell you they are nice by giving you a queen size bed if you are travelling alone. I usually recommend people to book directly at the hotel's official website, except if that hotel doesn't make things correctly
