“Feel it”

You are a guest in the family. Thats the feeling. We are travelling a lot. About 4-5 times every year.this was the first trip to Samos. We find this hotel and we are very happy. We never got this type of feeling in another hotel. Its small quiet, perfect location, clean and this type of kindness from the owner family Chiotis was super. Many good tips and information. Sometimes a coffe and sometimes a little bit more. We love it and we will be back.

“The owners make this a winner”

We stayed here for 2 weeks in the early summer. Rooms were basic, but clean, and had a nice patio area where we ate all of our meals. We stayed here for 2 weeks in the early summer. Rooms were basic, but clean, and had a nice patio area where we ate all of our meals. While we never used the pool -- the ocean and sandy beach are only a 5 minute walk away -- the surrounding garden makes the entire area more enjoyable to just sit around in. Plus, it is set back far enough from the road that nighttime noise is limited to the chirping of insects. The downside of this is that the place is a little hard to find if you've never been there before. Note the location on the map, since there isn't any obvious sign visible from the main road...or, at least, we never saw one. Even though Marathokampos is a vacation town, it is far from the main ferry ports and airport, so it would qualifiy as "off the beaten path". Nice if you're looking to avoid the crowds, but don't expect to rely on public transportation to get there. Bus service does exist, but is not frequent. So, unless you have lots of time to kill, you'll be renting a car or taking a taxi. The nearby beach is sandy, which is great unless the weather is windy (blowing sand). No problem; there's a pebble beach only a 15-minute drive away. OK: so it is a bit hard to get to, not beachfront, and not super-luxury. Then why a rating of 5? Simple: the owners. They are almost always on site -- pruning the flowers, checking on the pool, visiting with guests, giving advice on places to go and how to get there. Stuff that locals know, but guidebooks miss. The owner's father took particular interest in ensuring we saw the best parts of the island. Really a pleasant experience, and it made our trip much more memorable, as a result. We're already talking about when we can go back.
