“West Coast Getaway”

The location is great. The facility and staff were great. The buildings were under repair so there was a lot of noise dust at the time of our visit, but the rates were discounted at this time do I can't really complain. The on site Tiki bar was nice. “Great Tiki Bar!”

Stopped for drinks along the beach. Great place to stop while walking the beach for drinks and music. They also have a nice deck to sit and watch the sunset and order food. There chicken wings were delicious as well as the burger. Wait staff was friendly.

“Perfect couple getaway! Beautiful beach & fun Tiki Bar!”

After booking a flight to Fort Myers Beach, I randomly selected Outrigger for our stay. I had been to Fort Myers a number of times in the past, but wanted to stay near the beach. My requirements for our stay were: beach access, restaurant on site, pool, and bar on site. We took an Uber from Fort Myers airport, and it was about a 40 minute ride. Once reaching the beach, there was hardly any traffic. Our flight landed a little after 4 pm, and we were there the week before Memorial Day. I had heard traffic on the road could be tough, but it was fine. The Outrigger is further down the beach than some of the other resorts. As soon as you cross the bridge, there are a lot more restaurants and bars and definitely a lot more “touristy”. Once you continue on, you’ll reach some other resorts, including The Outrigger. I admit I was slightly concerned by the front desk staff…they weren’t very helpful, and one employee seemed quite annoyed by minor requests. However, we got all that we needed and I realize staffing is tough right now. All other employees at the resort were helpful and positive and that’s a huge plus! Especially the lady working in the cabana rental place - she was awesome! The resort is old - we were informed it was one of the oldest on the beach. HOWEVER, it was perfect for our needs! We had a 1st floor room and we were able to just leave our room and walk right to the pool, beach, bar, or restaurant. Our room had a little kitchen area which made it nice to use the fridge, table, etc. The beach area is LONG! Compared to some of the other resorts, we really had a beautiful stretch of beach. So many shells to find! We had a few meals and it was wonderful being able to eat and sit outside and relax. They also have live music every day in the evening. Perfect. One issue was the staff didn’t stop anyone who was smoking outside of the smoking areas. We didn’t love it, but it didn’t ruin our stay. To earn 5 stars, I would say the employees should be more cognizant regarding smoking, and the front desk staff could use a little more training/feedback. However, those issues were minor compared to how much we loved our stay. Lastly, be prepared to rent a cabana. It’s worth it! You get a large umbrella and 2 beach chairs and it’s needed with the sun. I’m SO glad we found this resort and I plan on coming back!

“Breakfast beer while taking a break from the sun!”

Walked up from the beach this morning shortly before noon to take a break from the heat. The Outrigger is a beautiful place! Lovely tiki bar in the shade, overlooking palm trees and the beach. Drinks reasonably priced. Gorgeous views, very tropical. Staff are decent.

“Awesome Beach resort vacation for Florida.”

Room was clean, king bed was comfy. For the on season it was pricey. Great beach bar and bartenders. Beach is one of best I have been to.
