Having disembarked from our delayed twenty-six hour ferry crossing from Cork to Santander, we finally meandered the beautiful driveway of Chateau de Brindos at half past Cinderella time with our equally tired and distressed ten year border collie Frankie along with a fully loaded trailer of our possessions, it being the begining of our next new adventure in France. We had decided to spoil ourselves after an arduous and protracted house move so we looked forward to enjoying some well earned rest and relaxation for two nights somewhere special! We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIPs! Our bags were deposited in Suite Borneo tout de suite! The bedroom, bathroom and lounge area leading to the balcony were just palatial! We had breakfast and lunch on our own private balcony, brought on time and graciously and on those three occasions, always delicious. Dinner on our second night was an absolute delight, a cacophony of taste on the tongue patiently described in English by the very charming Francoise. Auriel at Reception was equally kind, professional yet very funny as we did our best with what little French we had as she excelled with her parfait English whilst contemporaneously falling in love with our darling Frankie who she ordained should be the mascot chien pour l'hotel! He was so happy trotting around the lake of this beautiful chateau with wonderful, helpful staff! Would we return....in a heartbeat!

“Elegant”

Wonderful location next to large lake. Food a bit fussy (foie gras surrounded by bits of strawberry and leaves looked like a Christmas wreath in July). Wonderful location next to large lake. Food a bit fussy (foie gras surrounded by bits of strawberry and leaves looked like a Christmas wreath in July). But dining on the terrace overlooking the lake was special (except we were sitting behind the hedge which was too tall for me to peer over. Still you can’t have everything.). Comfortable suite with enormous bathroom. Parts of the hotel are a bit tired, but attractive nonetheless.

“Bravo Brindos! Lovely Place...”

Beautiful quiet setting by a lake, yet probably no more than 5 minutes from the airport. It sounds unlikely, but there is no problem with aircraft noise - quite the contrary. Beautiful quiet setting by a lake, yet probably no more than 5 minutes from the airport. It sounds unlikely, but there is no problem with aircraft noise - quite the contrary. Friendly helpful staff go out of their way to be helpful. This place has history and some quirky touches to the décor, which all adds to the fun. Free parking is a bonus anywhere near Biarritz. Decent sized pool, beautiful rooms, trustworthy wifi, good but small fitness centre - we were very comfortable indeed. Outside dining by the lake side is everything you would hope for - just an amazing setting with fish jumping around, ducks, turtles and copypu swimming nonchalantly by as part of the free cabaret. The menu is well selected - 4 or 5 options for each course - and changes weekly. We stayed three nights and had expected to eat elsewhere at least once, but in the end we stayed for dinner every night. Attentive and professional service - no delays, no rushing. Breakfast is buffet-style with all the usual options, plus some hot food. They are happy to cook eggs to order. We shall return (one day, definitely!)...
