“Excellent dinner, but average room”

This is right in the centre of Pléneuf, a few km from the front at Val André. It's a pleasant town and we enjoyed our walks in the centre and on the waterfront. This is right in the centre of Pléneuf, a few km from the front at Val André. It's a pleasant town and we enjoyed our walks in the centre and on the waterfront. The room was not really our sort, although it was clean and comfortable enough; we like to be able to see out of the window from the bed and it was too far from the head of the bed for this. But the service was good and the dinner, our first in France this holiday, was excellent. My wife had the St Jacques menu and it was just the job: not too big, many courses and very well executed.

“Average hotel, very nice restaurant”

The hotel was located in the town centre with not much nearby. The steps to get up to the room were very steep and there was no lift. The rooms were quite spacious and the bathroom OK. The hotel was located in the town centre with not much nearby. The steps to get up to the room were very steep and there was no lift. The rooms were quite spacious and the bathroom OK. The room was a little dusty and the wifi very slow. We went to the restaurant for dinner (nothing else open nearby) and the food and the service was very good. Equally breakfast was enjoyable.

“Not first choice”

We had to book an hotel last minute for a Friday night in August. This was never going to be easy and there wasn't much choice left. We had to book an hotel last minute for a Friday night in August. This was never going to be easy and there wasn't much choice left. However, we were pleased with the price and offering of this hotel in a village we knew and liked. We thought there was a car park but actually it's public parking only, although this wasn't a problem as it's a quiet area. It was like going back in time when you go in as it's a very quiet and traditional hotel. Unfortunately, our room was in a back extension and the only light was let in through the door and a small window but neither offered any privacy as there was a walkway running past. The room itself was OK - a bit dated but perfectly comfortable. We are not sure if maybe we were given the wrong room as when we checked out, the owner seemed confused about why we weren't in a different room. I suspect that might have been in the main hotel and offered us a more pleasant experience. We had hoped to eat in the restaurant but there was an outside event on so it was not open. There are literally no restaurants in the immediate area and you had to walk 15 minutes into town - fine on the way down, steep on the way up. We wouldn't return as we found our room to be too dark and pod-like, which is a shame as the location is quite charming.

“Nice family hotel, hotelkeeper not very hospitable”

A nice family hotel with charming rooms. The food in the restaurant was excellent, bad service. For a long family stay there was a lack of a friendly hotelkeeper. Also the waitress was not very customized. The environment, Pleneuf Val André, is beautiful!!! Nice and clean Bar Tabac nearby.
