“Extremely friendly welcome in a nice hotel with great views”
For an extremely friendly stay I can highly recommend Balmacara. The rooms are excellent with great views either over the Loch - front - or the mountains - back. “Go to the Balmacara Hotel!”
Spent the night at Balmacara and it was wonderful! We were tired from a lot of driving but the hotel and its amenities were fantastic! Highly recommend the restaurant as the food was on point! “Quiet, comfortable stay.”
The outside of the hotel is a little decieving as inside is actually lovely. Everywhere is clean, modern and comfortable. The hosts are very attentive. The views are wonderful. The hotel is peaceful and quiet. We found breakfast and dinner to be enjoyable. Provides a good base to drive into Skye.

“Pleasantly Surprised!”
What a very pleasant surprise! Stayed one night on our way to Skye. Room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. Dinner menu didn't excite but don't let that mislead you: beautifully cooked burger, excellent chips and a nicely curated cheeseboard. Had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakf… lisää

““The towels are in the dryer””
Food excellent, if rather a limited menu. Perfect view of the loch. This was a hotel staffed by willing but exacerbated workers. It went full Fawlty Towers when one American guest sheepishly asked for a bath towel, “It’s in the dryer”. Not a hint of the banned “s” word. Might be better in full … lisää
