We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Taj Bentota. The location and facilities were great. What was excellent was the very hospitable and caring staff. We were made to feel so welcome by the Chef team of Mr Dalip Singh, Mr Jasvir Singh and Mr Parmesh Gowda as well as the entire serving team like Ravindra etc. All our dietary requests were willingly catered to. It felt like home away from home. Keep up the good work!

We stayed at Taj Bentota in March 2025 for couple days. We had a great time here and enjoyed the delicious food here. We were extremely happy with the great hospitality and courteous staff. We had surprise menu options served both days by th Chefs and they prepared Jain food also on our request. Thanks to chef @Jasvir Singh for the lovely sweet dish specially prepared for us.

“Great location and fab food”

We had a fantastic stay. On arrival after a long flight even though it was only Midday reception managed to get our room ready. We had a fantastic stay. On arrival after a long flight even though it was only Midday reception managed to get our room ready. We were booked on a half board basis and the buffet breakfast and evening dinner has such a good variety of food. Sam our waiter and the rest of the staff looked after us brilliantly. Our room overlooked the sea and was cleaned daily by the lovely Gayan. There’s a tuk tuk stand in the hotel drive where you can get trips organised and the little track side restaurants are very close by just by the gates to the hotel.

Sumptious luxury, as expected. In this range it is surprising to see some signs of pettiness in dealing with the customer. We had a deluxe sea view room (even upgraded to a suite) with premium all inclusive and prepaid day use till 18.00. Despite the "gold" bracelet to indicate the premium all inclusive, we had to keep signing for bills with the price tag - indeed at checkout we had to pay at the end for two bar bills, which I did not argue about as there was a list of "inclusive" drinks and oddly Campari was not on it... (What the other was I am not sure but did not enquire. Incidentally, including only the barely drinkable house wines is really mean). What was irritating that at 2 pm on the last day we were locked out of the room and then had a new card printed, reluctantly with no apologies. Were were even *instructed* (I mean it) by the clerk to come back immediately after lunch to have the blacelet cut off as no further drinks would be covered. Surely, at such price range it was unnecessary behaviour. If indeed this was the "rule" (why?) then a verbal advice would have sufficed. Seriously, this left such a bad taste that it spoilt the last day and put a dark stamp on the whole experience. BTW the pool attendants were pleasant, industrious, fast and attentive. The room was perfectly clean and ours was not "tired".
