“Great Hostal”

If you can't afford a nice hotel and don't want to go for the regular hostel, then this hostal is your place! Absolutely amazing staff, preparing something special for their guests every night, great rooms, all clean and nice, good clientele and really close to, well, everything!

We stayed in BCN Hostal Central in April 2015, for 4 nights. The location is great, we basically walked to most of the sites, but if you want to use metro, it is just few steps away. The hostel is located appx. 5 mins walk from Placa Catalunya - which is very convenient, as the Aero buses from El Prat Airport stop there. So connection to the airport is very easy. Hostal itself - small room, but very clean (even though it needs some refurbishement, especially the bathroom) - very good for people like us, who spend most of the time outside, exploring Barcelona. We had a room with street view - so it can get a little loud at times, but I think that if you want a central location you can't really expect quitness... Also, if you shut both external and internal window shutters, it blocks out the noise just fine. You have supermarket opened 24/7 just outside the hostal, also a lot of cafes and bakeries. There are only two things, that can be veeeery annoying during your stay. 1. The walls are very thin, so if your neighbours even watch TV at night, you will hear everything. 2. Noise from the bathroom. We had an en-suite bathroom, that had some ehm...weird technology - whenever you used it, or your neghbours did, something in the bathroom pipes was making very, very loud noise, kind of like loud mixer... This was very distracting, especially that the noise was so loud, we were woken up few times during the night... Also, there is barely any seating/eating area, so if you need that, you might be a little disappoined. Overall - we are very satisfied, but due to the noise I wouldn't stay there with kids, also not recommended for people with sleeping problems.

“Nice place to stay in the centre”

We had a great experience during our stay in the hostal. Even though the hostal is a litle oldfashion, the room was always clean and there was good wifi conection. It is located right in the centre, close to catalunya square. Staff was really nice and helpful. A special and big thanks to the russia… more

“nice, clean, fantastic location”

We were staying in quadruple room with shared bathroom with my friends. The room was small and modest, but we didn't mind at all as it was cleaned up every day, bathroom was also clean and we didn't have to wait for a shower, even when it was August. We were staying in quadruple room with shared bathroom with my friends. The room was small and modest, but we didn't mind at all as it was cleaned up every day, bathroom was also clean and we didn't have to wait for a shower, even when it was August. Staff was really nice and helpful. I recommend you to pay a deposit (20 euro) for safe, where you can put your passport and most of money, it is better than to carry it with you in the city. In the end of your stay, they will give you the money back (if you won't lose the key). Also there is a common room, where you can get cofee or tea, which is included in the price. Location couldn't be better - immediate distance from Placa Catalunya, which is the very centre of Barcelona (biggest tourist information, transport leaving from here, La Rambla..). I can only recommend this place to stay!

“Small but well located”

Our experience of this hostel was fine. It was well run and clean, however the room was small. The location is ideal, very central and close several metro stations. We had a balcony room which was nice but the traffic noise was significant and the door to the room comes straight off the reception area. The biggest problem with the room was the pump in the bathroom. It operated every time the shower or toilet in the ensuite was used and it was very noisy. Overall the hostel was fine but I probably wouldn't stay again.
