“Lovely stay in this old but functional guest house”

We booked last minute at this hotel as all other hotels nearby were fully booked. Unfortunately the restaurant closes at 9 so we had to venture out to find food but there are many places in town. The room was spacious and well equipped despite being old. We had a lovely view of the sea and it was quiet and peaceful. Everywhere was clean and somewhat quirky in deformation, but this is a fa,ily run place and very friendly, catering for families and older people too.

“Convenient but tired”

This hotel is in the heart of Ospedaletti on the Main Street with the rear rooms overlooking the sea which is a positive Sadly the floor we stayed on wreaked of cigarette smoke when we arrived and thankfully we were able to open the windows to the balcony which was alright until our neighbours decided to smoke on the balcony which blew smoke into our room. The room itself was tired but comfortable. The bathroom was clean. We noted that the smoke detector was not complete and had no cover with exposed wires Hmmmm The lift is very small so not good if you do suffer from claustrophobia but it works. The stairs are an ok option. There also appears to be a policy of accepting animals (dogs) in as well. Not sure if they are allowed to stay in the rooms but they do bark. The breakfast , which was an extra cost above the room cost , was very nice. You do need to be at breakfast before 9 am to access cooked eggs and bacon otherwise the breakfast is very good anyway if you are later. Fresh coffee was delicious and welcome. The parking is not on site but in a secure lock up a block behind the hotel. There is a key that you require to access the car/open the gate so you need to temporarily park outside the hotel to collect the key and then drive around the block to the parking and walk back up the hill. Make sure you don't forget something you need from the car!!! The rooms are tired and the hotel quite expensive as with all in the area for what it is but there is not much choice so it is ok for one night if you need to stop in your travels. The wifi is terrible in the rooms so don't expect to do any emails in your room. You will have to go downstairs to reception every time you need to access the internet. Such a pain. None of our devices could load up the wifi or get any messages unless we held the computer near the door on a couple of occasions with some limited success.

Our room was spotless, great bathroom shower was a little small, our beds were comfortable, the view was amazing, breakfast was what it was. It is very quiet as the whole town is quiet, even the sea is quiet here. The hotel is from a bygone era and complete with what I understand is some of the staff is from when they opened in 1957. That is one of the reasons I would return to this little hotel.
