The local chef produced high quality traditional Spanish food for breakfast and lunch and packed lunches when required. My room was beautiful with lovely view over looking the mountains. It was sad to leave such lovely hosts and hotel behind.

Loved my time at Casa Muria. Cannot wait to go back. Owner Jose Luis was the ultimate host who went above and beyond. (When we needed our gear to be dried Jose Luis and Sole gathered it all and washed and dried it for us). Loved the homey, historical and eclectic design of it. It was up to date but you felt its timelessness. Views are magnificent. And I am still thinking about the meals cooked by Sole. Each time I did not think she could out do the last one she surprised me and did. Everything was fresh. Loved eating local cuisine.

This charming hotel significantly exceeded our already high expectations... in no small way thanks to the fabulous manager, Sole, who looked after us so well during our three night stay; the owners are very lucky to have secured her services! The building itself is fabulous... beautiful, interesting and exquisitely appointed. Our room, Africa, was large and airy (important as there was a prevailing heatwave for the duration of our stay) and felt both homely and luxurious at the same time, if that makes sense? An abundance of quiet spaces, either in the shade or in the sun - or, indeed, in the lounge below - allowed for peaceful contemplation without fear of interruption or distraction. We were very pleasantly surprised by the high standard of cuisine, and service, in the dining room... so much so that elected to dine at Casa Muria every evening (again, courtesy of the multi-talented Sole). However, there are also some excellent restaurants nearby including "Chongasta", a Michelin 2019 recommended restaurant in a tiny village, Chia, around fifteen minutes' drive away. Sole also recommended that we drive through Benasque and up to the "Hospital"... a beautiful location which, to us, was every bit as enjoyable as the nicest beaches we have visited... it is worth taking some towels, picnic and what have you if you decide to go. All in all, then, an excellent three night stay for us with absolutely no downsides. Thoroughly recommended! And thanks again to Sole!

Upon arrival, we were enthusiastically greeted by Jose Luis who gave us a personalized tour of Casa Muria which was a captivating mini-immersion in local history, culture, and art. He shares their story with so much passion and enthusiasm, you immediately want to start looking at real estate in the area to start your own hotel! However, when you realize the almost exhausting level of work and detail put into Casa Muria; furniture, linens, art, decor and a one of a kind Ducati Museum all procured throughout Jose Luis and Jenny's years of travels, you quickly understand it is a much better deal to put yourself in their very capable hands and let them lead you on an incredible multisensorial experience. Casa Muria is not just a beautiful destination; from its location, architecture, inviting rooms and cozy spaces, it is the culmination of Jose Luis and Jenny's passion for travel, the outdoors (both are very experienced and accomplished mountaineers, skiers and cyclists), and authentic experiences. Perched on a quiet hilltop overlooking the breathtaking valley and + 3000m peaks of the Spanish, Aragon Pyrenees, Casa Muria; Jenny, Jose Luis, and their warm local manager Sole, wrap you in a kind of authentic luxury that feels more like an ideal homecoming than a palatial fantasy. They share their passion for this beautiful area, with quality recommendations of outdoor, gastronomical, oenological and well-being experiences that will leave a footprint on your soul and make you want to return over and over again. As I reluctantly packed my suitcase to leave, I realized that THIS is precisely why we travel; to experience something new, truly unique and authentic - to connect with the people, the place and the local culture in an intimate way, to come away viewing our world through a new a different lens thanks to what we have experienced and the people that have contributed to that.
