We have just returned from a two night stay at the Avondale Guesthouse and can say that our experience was totally positive. We received a text message from Elliot to ask what time we would be arriving, which I thought was a really nice touch. When we did arrive we had completely missed where the car park was and Elliot came outside to guide us to the parking area which is situated at the rear of the building. We were shown to our room, which we were impressed with. The antique furniture is a real feature and is continued throughout the property. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. Wifi here was also good, strong signal and did not lose connection at all. Along with the hot breakfast option there are a selection of cereals available. The full English breakfast was most enjoyable and the waiting staff very attentive, always asking if you needed anything and offering more toast, orange juice and tea/coffee. The price that we paid for this room, which was a twin at £70 a night including breakfast, was extremely good value for money, considering it is Boardmasters weekend. We feel that we got an absolute bargain. After reading some of the reviews on here we were very hesitant but can honestly say, we were extremely impressed.We would 100% return here, the location is superb and extremely close to all the facilities that this wonderful place has to offer. The photographs on here do not do the property justice and you can see that Elliot has invested a lot of time and money in the property. The dining room has been completely transformed and it would be nice to see the property as it is now. Our weekend was brilliant and we cannot thank Elliot and his team enough for making us feel so welcome.

“Great stay. Friendly and comfortable”

Amazing bed. I slept so well. It is furnished with antiques so it's quite quirky (some might say dated) and I loved it. Veggie breakfast was fantastic. Great value for money, and a sea view from the room. Couldn't be happier

On our journey down to Cornwall we received a lovely text message from Elliot to ask what time we would be arriving and if we needed to park our car there was a car park around the back of the guesthouse in Fredrick Mews. We arrived earlier than expected, so we parked our car and went for a walk around Newquay, the views are beautiful. We received a text from Elliot to say he was now back at the guest house so we decide to book in. Elliot was lovely and very welcoming, he showed us our room and asked what we would like for breakfast, My husband had a full breakfast , me being a fussy eater, didn’t want certain things ,but it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t remember as I would pass them over to my husband. We settled into the room, only to find rubbish had been left under both of the beds (it hadn’t been hoovered under). A little disappointing I must admit Next morning when we arrived for breakfast every thing was perfect Elliot had my breakfast down to perfection. We would go back again.
