“Great hotel for visiting York”

This hotel is in a great location for visiting York Hotel was really clean with a Scandi feel to the internal design and layout. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. The food was good and portions generous. I would recommend this hotel for visiting York.

The Radisson Blu Hotel York provided an excellent opportunity for a short stay weekend away. We had a superior room with river view on the 5th floor. The room was large, clean, and had a lot of space, (useful for 2 people with electric wheelchairs). There is a large safe in the room (choose your own pin lock). The hotel provided a coffee maker and accompanying tea, coffee pods, water and biscuits, an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, towels, dressing gowns, and slippers. The shower was excellent, water press fantastic, the only thing missing was somewhere to sit (2 disabled visitors), standing was not an option. A shower stool would have been useful. The room has hanging space at the side of the door, with 5-6 hangers on the 2 available pegs, and storage drawers under these. Plenty for a weekend away. The food: the general evening meal menu is limited in what it offers, but the quality of good is outstanding. We had a set 3 course Christmas menu, this was reasonably priced with excellent food. Breakfast: Choose your own buffet: Standard choice of cereals, breads, meats, cheese, full English, and GF again all excellent and well prepared. The staff: The staff we met were outstanding, helpful, and we'll organised. There were 2 minor issues - the room heating did not work for quite a while and the room was cold, the heating finally kicked in at 2:30 am. The quilt needs to be addressed as it was see through in places where the padding had moved, in a cold room it didn't help. The TV signal was awful, making the TV impossible to watch, but this was a minor inconvenience. Overall. I would stay again, in the main out stay was excellent.

The room is clean and very comfortable walking distance to the shovels walking distance to the Minster Cathedral. Excellent Thai restaurant, next-door, another restaurant across the street and restaurant within the hotel, which I haven’t tried…
