Although it was difficult to find at first, the hotel is located near the center of the city. The bus stops are a 5 min walk away and the subway station is 10 mins. It is quiet (there is a KTV close by, but it shuts down by 10pm), clean and the staff is helpful. The English ability of the staff is limited, but sufficient for simple conversation. The room was comfortable, clean and nice beds. There was no fridge; however, the staff brought one to us at no extra charge. The internet was slow, sometimes very slow even in the lobby. The breakfast was 2 choices - Chinese or American. The American breakfast was 2 pieces of bread, a fried egg, a piece of ham, some coleslaw, a bun and coffee or milk. We would stay here again.

Had an overnighter here on my way to Chengdu suburbs next morning. Since I needed a room for a late arrival and early departure I chose this for the price and location (being a bit north in the direction I would be heading). And when I saw that the hotel had a coffee shop, a rarity for a Chinese hotel, I booked it. Let me sum it up this way: If I had to do it again, I would stay south and bear the traffic just to avoid this hotel. Now let me qualify: It wasn't that it was extremely terrible, but there was really nothing good about it. Location. The general location is okay, not too far from shopping centers and a few tourist attractions are a short cab ride away. But its specific location, off the main road on a side street, was unknown to the two taxi drivers I used for this trip (one to get from the airport to the hotel and one to get back to the hotel after visiting a friend). The hotel does have a massive lit sign on the side that is visible a block or so away, if you knew where to look. Cab from the airport was surprisingly only 50 rmb, surely due to the very light traffic at that time of night and the driver pretending to be Vettel. Going from the airport to this hotel you would likely have to go through the main downtown area, which is usually heavily congested. Right outside the hotel is a 24-hour convenience store, a bakery, and a KFC. Layout. Lobby is on the 4th floor of the tower, rooms on 5 through 7. Restaurant-coffee shop is on the 1st floor. No idea what occupies the other floors. Service. Check-in was fairly painless. Clerk first confirmed the price, quoting a lower one, then correcting herself. There was a guest there asking for her money back for some reason but the clerk (yes, just one doing everything) flatly refused. My language skills weren't good enough to get the full story, so I have to say it wasn't necessarily the hotel's fault, but the guest seemed flabbergasted. After getting my key the clerk asked me not to leave any valuable things in the room. I found this strange since this is a given anyway, no need for a reminder from the desk. Then I noticed that behind the clerk sat a man, supposedly the guard, staring at a bank of screens monitoring the hallways. I don't really know how safe or unsafe the hotel and the area is, but the clerk made me feel UNsafe. Room. And when I got to the room my uneasiness didn't lessen any. The door was very flimsy. My 10-year old nephew could probably kick it down. Room itself was big, too big for its own good since it felt very empty. Carpeting was old with usual uncleanable stains. Small window looks out onto some old apartments. Bed low and firm. Fridge empty. Bathroom amenities bare basics. TV had Chinese channels, two of which worked and the rest fuzzy. No complimentary tea, coffee, or water. Lighting on the dim side. Any positives at all? Free internet. Breakfast. Most breakfast offerings at Chinese hotels are similar, but this one takes the cake in lack of selection. I had some very greasy noodles and watery Tang-ish stuff. This is not a hotel I would stay at again, but if you are on a tight budget and/or travelling with a few friends sharing a room, there could be some value in it.
