“Hotel”

Overall a good hotel. Good staff and the breakfast wasn't to bad. I will recommend it to anyone who is wanting a good night. It is close to the city and stations and other restaurants and supermarkets.

Coming home from Germany, we decided on the run to spend a night in Vienna. Since Vienna is always a very crowdy place, some friends recommended that we stay here. It was not a bad choice. Friendly staff, they helped us with important information (like there is no parking fare on Saturdays and Sundays in the town), the room was clean and nice. The breakfast was very good, coffee was from nesscafe machine (not so good, but it worked). For one night it was allright. 300m from Prater subway station (3 stations from Stephansdome), in Leopold quarters. To be remembered for a next time short travel to Vienna.

“Ok for budget travellers”

location: a bit remote, the closest metro stations are not as nice as the ones in the center of Vienna. room: small but clean. All the noises from the corridor come straight through. Our room had a weird sliding door to the bathroom. Difficult key. No airconditioning. wifi: extra cost for the wifi

“Over priced”

The hotel is in a neighborhood I feel scared walking along after 7pm, and the whole setting is really out of dated so I think it's over charging.

First the positives and the reason I have the hotel 3 stars instead of 2: the hotel is well located, the price is very hard to beat and the rooms are clean. Breakfast was standard and the wifi was generally acceptably fast. Sounds good, right? My first complaint: We stayed 5 nights at the hotel and were given the tiniest double room I have ever stayed in and I have travelled extensively through Europe. It was not comfortable in size for two fit and fairly slim 30 somethings and certainly was not a fitting choice for guests staying 5 nights. In peeking into some of the other rooms, ours must have been the smallest. Not sure why we were the unfortunate ones but make sure you don't get room 223 if you are a couple staying here. My most major complaint though is that smoking and 2nd hand cigarette smoke is very prevalent in the hotel. We were often awoken in our room in the morning with wafts of 2nd hand smoke coming from under the door and the bathroom vents. The common areas are also very smokey smelling and when I asked about the smoking policy, I was told that it was a non-smoking hotel but that Austria had liberal rules. We also noticed that some of the staff smoked in the common areas and did not shut the door of the "smoker's room" adding the the problem. In conclusion, non-smokers may want to rethink this hotel choice. I would not have booked it had I known it would be a smoker's paradise.
