“15 minutes to the airport but a complicated journey even with navigation”

A lot of rounds to the the apartment. No view to anything on the ground floor. Comfortable for a night before the flight home though there are other hotels nearer. Alhaurin is pretty but not much to see as a tourist.

For 44 euro we had a spacious apartment on an urbanization not far from the centre of Alhaurin de la Torre. It was very handy for the airport and a short drive to the coast. The apartment was spacious and could have slept four comfortably. The crockery and cutlery was a bit mix and match but for that price we were more than happy.

“Basic clean accommodation”

We stayed here for 3 nights as we were attending a wedding nearby. It was clean and reasonably priced and was fine for our purpose. However, if you were staying here with a family for more than 2-3 days the lack of amenities could be a problem. There is no pool. The apartment was basic, with mirrors only in the bathroom. There was nor kettle but when we asked for one at reception we were given one straight away. The beds were comfy and the apartment was serviced each day. It is a short walk into the town, downhill on the way in but uphill on the way back. Overall it was convenient for us but if I was returning to this area for a longer period I would probably stay somewhere I bit more upmarket.

We fell in love with this beautiful town called Alhurin de la Torre the second day. I have no idea why I chose this hotel but hubby was quite please as it's far from the Malaga centre thus avoid any night drunkards coming back from the city's bars. The hotel itself is, I guess, run by a family. It had seen better days although the apartment was in good size. It's true that room rate was surprisingly low. However, several things were overlooked by the management. The kitchen cooking facility was not super but just fine, apart from missing a chop board. The kitchen and bedroom windows cannot be locked which left a feeling of not secure at night or daytime when no one was around. The bedroom was not equipped with air conditioner thus it's quite hot for us to sleep in some nights. We had to sleep in the sitting room sofa cause the electric fan was basically useless. Bathtub was damaged in many places and plastered with silicon instead of replacing with a new one. In spite of all these, I would say, the convenience of all sorts like restaurants, supermarkets, town centre, beautiful parks, nice local residents and the hotel personnel, outweighed all inconvenience. However, I sincerely hope that the hotel will see to all these and improve as we certainly plan to come back to this lovely town in future.
