We have just returned from our family holiday and stayed at Gunes. It’s a basic hotel but we loved it. It was very clean and had everything we needed. All the staff were lovely and we will definitely be booking to go again. You walk out of the hotel and you are right on the beach and all of the lovely restaurants are right there. We had a late flight coming home so we extended the room time for only £20. There were plenty of sun beds for everyone. Breakfast was traditional Turkish style, but we enjoyed it. We had lunch most days out of the front of the hotel which was nice and had an evening meal there on our last day. There were 6 of us in total ages from 15-63 and there were no complaints from anyone, We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Gunes hotel for a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel! All the staff are really friendly and approachable, and Yusef and Oktay are great behind the bar. Had a really interesting chat with the owner over a drink - his recommendation for the best hamman to go to was definitely appreciated! Rooms are cleaned daily and as a bonus, they will securely look after your cases if you have a late pick up! Will definitely be returning to this great hotel!

We booked direct with the hotel for a one week’s stay. We booked a family room which was above the walk through between the promenade and the pool and bar area. We are used to 4/5 star AI hotels so this was a huge change for us. It is a small hotel on Calis beach and has prime location for the beach and restaurants which are numerous and excellent along the front. Our room had many positives. It was two bedroom with one bathroom. Our children were glad to have their own beds rather than the sofa and ‘Z’ bed at the AI hotel around the bay the week before. The room was clean, air-con worked well and had a refurbished bathroom with plenty hot water. The slight negative was part of tue door frame was not attached to the wall but it was barely noticeable. A few marks on the wall from previous guests. The room did what it said on the tin and despite the sheet on the bed not covering us adequately, I actually slept better here than I did at the AI in the previous week. Breakfast was disappointing. Plenty of choice if you like salads, cold meats and cheese. Just needed more cereal options. Toast was available and they did cook fried eggs, scrambled (I assume) and omelettes. I didn’t have these due to previous issues with eggs abroad. No fresh juice - this is payable. The bar is amazing! Bar staff are friendly, jolly and attentive. Their cocktail menu was actually better than the AI hotel in terms of choice and personally I preferred the choice here. They do amazing frozen daiquiris and alcoholic milkshakes such as Strawberry and Cream and Choco Nuts. The sunset restaurant at the front serves a good, wide choice of Turkish and international foods and the quality was excellent. Perfect spot to watch the sunset. From the promenade it doesn’t have the kerb appeal as others however the food is just as good and excellent value for money. The pool is of adequate size. Guests allow others to use the pool noodles and floats and some I believe have left them for others to use. The pool is clean and well used. There isn’t the space for more subbed and we found an issue with some guests reserving their sunloungers and then leaving early to go to Calis or Fethiye markets and not returning until 2pm. This was unfair on those who wanted a pool day. Sadly there was one particular family of five who did this each day they went on an excursion. Third photo shows their reserved beds - only two that day instead of their usual four! We also had one group who had absolutely no regard for personal space and moved one bed from one side to the other and placed it under the umbrella we were already placed under thus blocking my children’s access to the pool and sunloungers and vice versa. Positives: Comfortable beds, clean rooms, hot water, location, drinks, food at the sunset restaurant, staff, well stocked library of books to use, friendly guests (despite the family of five reserving beds - they weren’t rude or impolite - just ignorant of others and a bit selfish). Areas for improvement: need larger blanket on the bed, the area around the pool needs sweeping as lots of pebbles etc so when you get out of the pool, your feet pick up small bits of debris, breakfast needs more cereal choice and fruit choice, better quality umbrellas, better quality sun loungers. So would I go again? Most definitely. But there are lots of hotels on Calis beach and we would likely visit others in the future. The hotel is very good value for money and I would recommend it. But there is a tired feel to the hotel and if you look either side, some of the hotels have had a huge refurbishment and has a more modern appeal to it.
