We spent three nights at this classic inn that is situated in northern Tokyo in the Asakusa, Taito City area. The inn is classically designed with a lovely lounge and dining room on the ground floor, various Japanese artifacts and art around the building, and separate men's and women's baths on the 2nd floor (with rotating hours between the two types of baths. The rooms have tatami mat beds that are firm but comfortable. There is free wireless throughout the inn with different routers on each floor. The hotel staff are very friendly and extremely polite. Although it costs a little extra, the Japanese breakfast is fantastic and well worth including. I will highly recommend this inn to my friends who visit Tokyo and desire a classic hotel.

The dinner that we booked in advance was AMAZING! Really delicious - we wore our yukata and ate in a private room - service was exceptional. We didn't try the breakfast. The room was very traditional and exactly what we were expecting. The beds were laid out and put away for us and lovely green tea chocolates provided :) As long as you're happy to spend time on tatami mats at floor level, this is a great place to stay. The location of the hotel is brilliant: I'm so glad that we decided to spend a couple of nights in Asakusa - it's a great area. Sensoji is just down the street and the hotel staff suggested visiting it at night to see it quiet and lit up. It was beautiful and nearly empty. The only minor thing was that as with most ryokan there is a night curfew. We didn't mind this as we were expecting it but the staff at the desk did mention it on several occasions, which was a little repetitive. The bathroom was functional and fine but could have done with a slight refurb.

Sadachiyo was a last-minute booking on our part, motivated by our desire to return to Asakusa at the end of our stay in Japan, and we were very pleased with our decision. Our Japanese-style room on the 3rd floor was quite spacious and comfortable, and completely quiet during our 2-night stay. We also found it very easy to communicate with the staff about our preferences, and they were super-responsive both online and in person once we arrived. We loved the chocolates and candies left in our room, and the tea setup worked well. While I didn't try the baths here, I appreciated that they set the schedule so that the wood and stone baths alternated in being open to men or to women, so you could try both even within a short stay. The breakfast was less elaborate and tasty than what we experienced in other ryokan/onsen stays in Japan, but it's easy to book without breakfast and opt in or out from day to day. At the end of our stay, we had to check out right as the front desk was opening and rush to the train to the airport, and the gentleman at the front desk helped us out by offering to mail a package we needed to send from within Japan. This is a very guest-oriented, pleasant ryokan in an interesting, non-touristy neighborhood in Tokyo.

Well maintained and excellent service ! Feel the personalize and warm service. Convenient location to many eateries and shopping mall. My girl love the stay in ryokan experience. Some upgrade and touch up - bathroom and in room ceiling. 👍👍👍
