“Local gem”

Great service, location and atmosphere! Enjoyed the room and all contacts with the hotel where great, slept like a baby and the local surroundings and view is spectacular! Restaurants and the little plaza are little gems and hiking in the area is recommended.

We have spent 7 nights here and have loved our stay for us it was fantastic. It is an old building so no lift and lots of stairs which would not be great for those with mobility issues. Our room was a good size very comfortable bed a fridge and a good bathroom we had the added bonus of an outside terrace. On the lowest level is the patio with tables and chairs and a small wonderful cooling pool. There is an honesty bar a bit expensive but also free water, breakfast is included bread meat and mini croissants. Do not expect room service it is a small hotel that allows it's guest to relax with no fuss. We would recommend it

I’d say this review should be more a 3.5 out of 5. The hotel is well placed near the centre of the town but not near to traffic. The lobby area is spacious, and members of staff are extremely helpful. The rooms are pretty basic and not very soundproofed. We were unlucky to experience a large group staying in what I guessed was an AirBnB next door but one, and they were extremely noisy in to the early hours. I felt more could be made of the hotel but it would take an injection of cash (and removal of the unnecessary plastic lemons!). The views from our first floor room, across the valley, were stunning. The breakfast choices were good, and fresh local products were used. I guess I simply expected more.

Bea on reception was very helpful and very nice. The room we had booked had a clear door to the bathroom. Bea on reception was very helpful and very nice. The room we had booked had a clear door to the bathroom. That may be ok for some people but the lack of privacy is simply not acceptable so I asked for another room. The next room had no door at all to the bathroom! Bea helpfully showed us one more, which was bigger and ok, but €30 per night more. We took it as there were no other hotels nearby with availability. The room would sometimes smell of sewage. The room was unfinished, with cables hanging out of the wall in the bathroom, although not dangerous as long as you didn’t pull them out I guess. The builders started up at 1700 for 2 hours one day but judging from other reviews, we got off light. However, the building works left a lot of dust on the worn-out carpet. No doubt it will all be nice when it’s finished, although the plasterboard walls ensure there’s lots of noise from other rooms. The photos of the pool are completely misleading as it’s no more than a plunge pool in the breakfast area. All in all, I should have booked C’an Verdera. More expensive but you get what you pay for. The best thing about this hotel without a doubt is the front of house cat. She is so cute.
