“Lovely family holiday”

Just got back from a 9 night stay and have had a lovely holiday. My son made so many friends and didn’t want to leave. Liked that kids club, pools, slides and courts were all close enough the my son could go independently between them and feel he was safe. Drinks were better than previous all inclusive holidays we have stayed in. Also ice creams such as cornettos, feasts, twisters and vienettas around pool. Scooped ice cream on an evening. Room was small but perfectly fine. One small issue with light and security box but was sorted straight away. Room tidied and cleaned daily with mini bar re stocked. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Grounds well maintained. We got dolmus for 1 euro to side old town and to Magnavat market easily enough and couple minutes walk from hotel. Pool areas very clean. Water was cold but once you were in it was fine and didn’t stop them being used. Had a lovely Turkish hammam and massage would definitely recommend. Kids club and entertainment staff worked very hard and long hours. Special mention to Cuma Ali (Juma) who made such an effort to engage with our group and remembered all our names and was very helpful with bus information, market info, making us aware of activities and entertainment and just generally a really lovely and funny person who always had a huge smile each day. Turkish flat breads around pool area were so good and the lady making them was lovely. Did not use the beach as I don’t like sand so can’t comment but lots of people said how great it was. Weather was very good during day and most days was around 30 degrees. On an evening slightly cooler and need a light jacket or cardigan. Only one night where I felt a bit cold. Air conditioned Gym which had a decent amount of equipment which I used most mornings. Treadmill, bike and cross trainer cardio machines then free weights and some weight machines along with areas to put a mat down and do other stuff. Negatives Food very repetitive and often cold. Very busy and chaotic in restaurant. If you stayed in the rooms of main hotel from reception on side where hotel entrance is it was very loud until 1am as lake lounge is right next to it and meant I could not sleep until this was finished. My husband and son had no issue sleeping but I did. As its end of season shows were only running every other or every couple of days. Shop on site ridiculously expensive and he wasn’t very pleasant. All in all a great holiday. We would return. One bit of advice would be to take a thermos type mug/travel cup. The cups in restaurant areas are so small I would need to use three on a morning just to get my equivalent of a cup of tea (took my own tea bags too) and next time will take my own cup for ease.

My daughter, grandson and myself spent 10 nights at Marvida this year and we were a bit disappointed this time around but enjoyed nonetheless! The food was repetitive and usually lukewarm, a couple of families we got talking to complained of food poisoning from the chicken which put us off. The pools were freezing cold but on the upside, the slides were lots of fun. The rooms were ok and cleaning took place daily My only complaint with housekeeping is that they came too early in the morning which made us feel a bit harassed as we were barely up and dressed when they barged through the door. Beds were comfy enough and amenities in the rooms were comfortable but basic. Mini bar in the villas were not replenished which was disappointing, also coffee/tea cups were not replaced and we had to rinse them ourselves and re use them, not ideal. Front of house was very helpful and gave us a free upgrade to a family villa room as it was our second time at the hotel, repeat visitors were VIP’s and received a gift to our room in appreciation, this was a lovely gesture so thank you Marvida for that. Friendly staff throughout all the various areas of the hotel greeted us always and the bar staff got to know our usual tipples and would prepare it before we asked Entertainment was good but I would have liked to hear a more diverse selection of music in the lake lounge, with that said, the DJ was happy to play our requests It was lovely to see familiar faces from our trip last year, thank you Eray and Suleyman for being such great friends and making our experience such fun. Oh and the Hamam and massage was top notch, a must on any visit to Türkiye 🇹🇷

“Research and actual recommendation before booking”

Our first trip to Turkey for 8 nights, and before we booked (3 generations in party of 7) we were advised “all hotels 5* wherever you go”. Our first trip to Turkey for 8 nights, and before we booked (3 generations in party of 7) we were advised “all hotels 5* wherever you go”. Well, if the Marvida Family Eco is anything to go by we would have to reclassify them as no more than 3*+. Our main gripe was with the food quality and variety. For example, meats were restricted to chicken and turkey, although one night we had lamb. Nothing sliced, but just scrunched by hand! Breakfast cereals only available for the kids, although there were plenty of eggs, boiled, fried, plus scrambled and omelettes. Could go on, but you need to experience it to really appreciate my comments. Had to ask for indoor pool to be heated, but appreciate the outside pools would be cold at end October. The kids enjoyed the slides nevertheless. Private beach area was good and fortunately sea was warmer. Rooms not cleaned very well, especially the floors, and beds not very comfortable. The overall impression was one of “skimping”, and on a positive note the weather exceeded our expectations. Advice is to really fully research the hotel before you book, and if someone you know has been there, all the better.
