Just today I have seen at trip advisor that the price is about 320000 with including breakfast but they charged me 350000 without breakfast for a room at downstair without having any window. “Good Location to Beer Street, Helpful Staff, Comfortable For What You Pay”

My room did not have a window, and beds were box springs. But for me I like a firm bed. The elevator stopped between floors, so you had to use the stairs to get to your room. Breakfast was mostly Asian food, but did have fried eggs, toast with butter and jelly, also pancakes. Coffee was ok.

OK, I've stayed here twice in the last five years and was looking forward to coming back. However, while the rooms were clean and the rates good, things seem to be in decline. I stayed there twice, a few days each, on my visit to the Hanoi area this time and there were constant frustrations. The television didn't work right and most stations did not come in well at all. I was told that the problem was "outside" so they were sorry but there was nothing they could do about it. The wifi did not work well enough to post on facebook often. Again, nothing could be done. Most frustrating of all, when I checked out the first time, the credit card machine was broken and I had to visit four banks before I found one that could give me cash advance on the credit card (yes, you can do this at an ATM if you are prepared and know the pin. I did not.) The second time I stayed, I asked every day if they had the credit card machine broken so that I would be better prepared if it was broken again. After being assured it was fine each day, guess what? Yes, it was broken, which caused me to be late for an appointment (and to make things more frustrating many banks in Hanoi close for lunch from 11:30 to 1:00pm which is, of course, check out time at hotels. While they did get it work again, it took them about 45 minutes to do so. Also the quality of the breakfasts has declined big time. Years ago, they had a very nice breakfast included and would cook from a menu for each person. Now they bring out steamers which are full of pre-cooked food that is often overdone and does not taste good. I think next time I come to Hanoi, I will stay elsewhere. But the rooms are clean and the rats good.

The folks here were helpful when we decided to change our schedule and go overnight to Ha Long Bay. They also addressed the fact that the AC really didn’t cool down the room the first night we were there. They did allow us to leave our bigger suitcase while off to Ha Long Bay, so we were thankful… more

The folks here were helpful when we decided to change our schedule and go overnight to Ha Long Bay. They also addressed the fact that the AC really didn’t cool down the room the first night we were there. They did allow us to leave our bigger suitcase while off to Ha Long Bay, so we were thankful for that. The room was a good price and was quite small with no outside window.
