Booked this hotel outside of Cervinia for a short ski-trip. I was initially disappointed that I was unable to find a room in the ski village and would have to drive the 5 miles to the lift, instead of walk, but since we skiied only one day, and rented our equipment, it was not a concern. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was misled by it's somewhat unadorned exterior, and it's location; next to an on-going construction project of apartments, and sharing a parking lot with a small church. It is just off the main road that runs up this beautiful alpine vally, and right next to the fast-flowing river (?? bigger than a stream, but really not quite a river). My attitude was changed after entering the hotel's nicely outfitted lobby; it is run by 3 ladies ( mother-daughters?) who obviously take quite a bit of pride in their recently renovated hotel. Everything looks brand new; it is SPOTLESS! Check-in was easy and fast, and our room on the second floor was very nice. The twin beds were typically firm, with crisp linens. The bathroom was modern and clean. The small balcony afforded us views of the small neighborhood, with old stone houses with slate roofs, built into the steep sides of the towering mountains. There are walking paths if you want to hike up these terraced slopes. The highlight was the restaraunt. We booked with half-board, so we were asked to choose our desired starter and entree when we checked in. Later than evening, we entered a dining room with about a dozen tables with tableclothes and linen napkins, with a small plaque with our room number on it indicating where we should sit. Antipasta buffet, followed by our chosen starter. The wine list seemed very good, but I risked a half bottle of the red 'vina de la casa', which went well with my roasted shin of pork. Everything was delicious, including the chocolate torts. Service was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was self-service, except for the coffee, and included pastries & croissants, meats & cheeses, yogurt, fruit, juices, and a selection of butter and jam spreads, including Nutella, which my daughter enjoyed. The only real complaint was that the hard surfaces of the hallways and rooms (marble/granite/stucco) made it noisy whenever people came & went. Ski equipment is not allowed inside the hotel, so it wasn't like people were stomping through the halls, but even casual conversation was clearly transmitted through the walls, closing doors echoed and footsteps above you were easily heard, too. This is not a hotel for night-owls; so this is a minor issue since everyone seemed to settle down quickly, and fairly early in the evening. The small church bell outside our room was, thankfully programmed to stop tolling at 9 or 10 pm, and didn't start up again until 8 am.

“Good place to stay”

Nice hotel, perfect position to go to ski to Cervinia but quite cheap. Several restaurants on the main road, enough parking space close to the hotel. Definitely reccomended if you don't want to spen too much money to ski in Cervinia

Booked a week on short notice wanting to go back and ski late season in Cervinia. The hotel is conveniently located a few kilometers south of the gondola in Valtournenche. Also, not a long ride into Aosta, which we visited on a not so good weather day. Our hosts offered to transport us there with their ski bus, but since we had our car we opted for that. The hotel itself is well maintained and appeared to have been fairly recently renovated. The rooms, although smallish, had nice balconies. Baths were adequate. A little more storage and a bit larger shower would have made the accomodations truly outstanding for the price. Breakfast was a bit limited, but good. And dinner was well prepared and extremely well served. They even accommodated my gluten free diet! We had a wonderful week. So if, like us, you prefer to be away from the hub-bub this may be just the right place!

The view from my room was very nice, and all was ok. But this hotel doesn't offer more than adequate accommodations for skiers like us. The dinner has a taste of home cooked, but a bit too low scale, while breakfast was really modest... is it too much to ask for an omelette for breakfast?
