“Fourth or fifth stay in a few years”

It was indeed a great pleasure for me to return to Bela Vista Hotel for the fourth or fifth time. It's a very friendly place, the rooms are large and comfortable, and many have a balcony or a terrace. At the reception, it's possible to book whale and dolphin watching trips. Highly recommended!

“Amazing view over Mount Pico”

I stayed 3 nights in a double room in this beautiful hotel and it was good value for money. The mattress and pillow were comfy and double bed was big. There was a wardrobe with hangers and extra pillows, bedside lamp, cabinet, a chair and a tv on a desk. Bathroom in the room with nice shower, no problems with hot water, clean towels. The room and the property were all nice and clean, I liked the colourful design. Breakfast was plentiful and really tasty with some local products (pumpkin jam). To charge my phone I had to unplug the tv, as there were no other sockets in the room (although one in bathroom), but this wasn't a problem for me. The best thing was the big window with amazing view over Mount Pico. After dusk I could hear cagarro birds outside, which only added more character to this wild island. During my stay I climbed Mount Pico and drove around the island. All staff I came across were nice and helpful. I was leaving before breakfast and they prepared for me something to eat and drink. Thank you. There is little car park for maybe 4 cars, I decided to park on the road, 2 minutes walk, plenty of free parking. I was told you can park for free everywhere on the island. There is a little coffee shop/restaurant just round the corner and Spar shop too.

“Great apartment hotel”

We were in a one-bedroom apartment located on the main road, while it seems that the main part of the hotel was up a side street. All the hotel buildings were painted a bright white and cheerful yellow. Our apartment allowed us to spread out a bit, nice after having somewhat cramped rooms elsewhere… more

We were in a one-bedroom apartment located on the main road, while it seems that the main part of the hotel was up a side street. All the hotel buildings were painted a bright white and cheerful yellow. Our apartment allowed us to spread out a bit, nice after having somewhat cramped rooms elsewhere. There was even a washing machine which was great since it costs a lot to send laundry out. The staff supplied the laundry detergent. There is no dryer but a rack. The heat ensured that the clothes dried within a day. Our apartment had been remodelled in 2007 and is quite nice. TV, stereo, kitchenette. Free WiFi (which was only good when on hotel premises).

Family run apartments and hotel. We stayed in apartment: 2 rooms, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom - all fair size, clean and tidy. Nothing too fancy but perfect for people exploring Azores. There was a washing machine in the apartment - after 2 weeks travelling it was a huge bonus. Hosts are extremely nice and helpful. They make you feel welcomed. Lajes is very small and peaceful yet still you can find a place to eat and nice whale museum. It is perfect base for whale watching trips. There is a surprisingly big and well supplied supermarket 15 minutes walk following main road - remember that you have a kitchen at your disposal so take this opportunity to treat yourself with nice dinner. We have prepared our own breakfast as well . Mighty ocean is just outside you door; your can relax watching waves and enjoy fresh breeze. Highly recommended
